No I am not a Warhammer fanboy, I just am getting sick of games being released half finished.  Give it a week and see what you hear.

I'll be playing then, too. Doesn't seem half finished to me, it has it's share of bugs, but until the last patch I didn't really have much of a problem, so I'm sure they've got it under control for the most part.

I'll probably wait. Who knows what the client will be like on release?

Better than it is now, and the version I play is damn good.

But it's fine that people want to wait. Less people at launch day means less lag for those of us playing the game.

There will be buddy keys available for those who wish to try the actual game instead of a beta build as well.

Development on an mmorpg is never finished.

If you want a great gaming experience, come back in a year. That's how it usually works in this genre.

I second this. I love this game and cant wait for it to start for real.

Many people will but i'm excited and know i'll get my moneys worth.  I am also addicted to MMO launches.  I will pre-order and be there from day 1, and I will do the same with WAR.

This post feels more like an order then a suggestion, but many gamers have been burnt before and wait on MMO launches these days.  Those that are excited about the game though won't change their minds because you tell them tooooo.

Was hoping to get into some sort of beta phase and make my own opinion from that, is what i use open beta stage's for, whilst they use us to stress test their servers (you have to discount any server issue's during this phase anyways because they cram as many as they can on), you just have to use proper judgements in these phase's.

What i do look for is how good a look the game is, the playability of it, how polished it is (as mentioned not a half finished game, thats full of more bugs than an anthill), lastability, endgame-here you would know wether it will have a endgame playability or just not. Plus a few other things. As also mentioned, way too many companies are now releaseing way too many buggy, half finished games onto the market for the past 5/6yrs. This by the way doesnt just include online gaming.

Its time we, as the customers, didnt just run out and buy any old piece of crap and then find out and begin to wish you hadnt bothered. People say, go out and buy it, you get the 1st month free and if you dont like it, you dont have to pay for other subscriptional months. What you do have to think of is why, say 500,000 copies were sold and 10,000 players stayed, in my opinion that would = a complete failure, however to the company, it would say ok, could have been better, but it is somewhat of a success (they go off copies sold than actuall subscribers staying) at a cost of what £35/£40 ($60+) a hot.

Me, if i fail to get into any beta stage (which is looking very likely now), i would not give it 1 week wait time, not even 2, not even 1 month, i would recommend at least 2-3 months, for some proper feedback to come through, this would put you behind, but it would also give them a chance to fix problems, starting area's to clear up abit and mainly for some proper game feedback to come through, that you can make a proper game assessment on whether to purchase it or not.

There we go, thats my 2 bits worth.

I came to terms a long time ago that no MMO will ever be finished at launch, and that there will always be problems; if for no reason other than the fact that there'll never be as many people in beta playing as consistently and unforgivingly as there are in a launch environment.

The question is whether or not an MMO is fun enough that the bugs don't bother you as much as they would if the game was boring.

World of Warcraft for example, I loot-slid around happily the very first week, and endured the growing pains of queue implementations and sorts of other stuff, 'cause it was fun.

Obviously if any problems experienced during these betas killed the fun for you, don't play. If you feel the game could possibly be fun if certain bugs are fixed, note those bugs and wait for them to be fixed. If its plain boring and there's no bug or performance issue in particular you can attribute to that fact, then never play.

Simple really, a bug is only a nuisance when there's a lack of patience for it and an absence of fun.

Not playing something you'd potentially joy just to try and teach the developers a lesson however won't do jack. The same amount of time we'd give developers to fix bugs, we'd use to demand features be expanded upon and new features be implemented; which only introduces more bugs.

MMOs should launch when the vast majority are able to find it fun despite its problems; 'cause there's no better environment to sort a game's problems in other than the environment it was meant for. Case in point Grand Theft Auto IV; 100 million dollar game with supposedly over a thousand developers that's freezing on both the consoles it's released for. But it's being sorted.

    Stuff happens!

I will wait at least 3 months if i ever buy this game, then again if i wait 3 months i just wait for another month or 2 then buy WAR,,,

  • xxariochxxxxariochxx Member Posts: 97

I honestly think they should hold off for at least another month on this the game is being forced out and thats only going to cause more issues ive been on beta since Nov. 07 and its come along way but theres just too many bugs right now....

I have alot of high things to say if they do it right but at this point its not ready it really isnt....

I just cancelled my preorder. Not because of performance or bugs, but simply that the combat isn't deep as promised. Melee fighting is just 1,2,3 - 1,2,3. Using my abilities makes the fight take longer than just spreading attacks out and hitting across multiple targets. Not being able to time blocks and parries is annoying too, its WoW/EQ without auto-attacks or good spec trees. I also noticed that on low the only way to detect an incoming spell is to see the caster moving its hands, never had a fireball or damage effect happen, and died because a caster was off my screen. Just not innovative, intuitive or fun to me. If I could do my combos without having to activate them, it'd be a lot more fluid and fun. A lot of times using an ability causes the npc to shift shields to that abilities attack side before inputing the combo, making it a waste. Not to mention everyone has the same abilities up until level 4 or so. Needs a lot more concept work.

and yes that was the other thig, the REVOLUTIONARY combat system was basicly smashing my keys. I like the shield block and parry stuff but comboing and key smashing gets old after a while, I wanna ALT TAB and download porn when fighting a mob thats like 10 lvl lower than me... I miss my wow paladin :)

I am really tired of people complaining about their performance using the debug client of the game.. GET A CLUEEEE PEOPLE the live version of the game will not have anywere near as much problems that the debug client has

You guys complain about how funcom is letting people see the game but didn't put their best client out there for people to play on... guess what.. you just helped them debug the game and thats all you are there for.  Time and time again people explain to not base the retail game off of beta experiences yet over and over again the dumbest people come out of the woodwork. You want to wait? Ok, but when this is all over and you realize you jumped the gun simply because you expected the beta to be a trial of the game and not an actual beta.. well SUPRISE. No one tricked you.. you were told it was a beta and you still tried to squeeze the possibility of this being the retail client.

Its funcom so ill be there if theres a trial or any free tryout. If I have to pay to preview it then ill wait awhile.

If its half as good as AO then it will finally be a decent mmorpg.
