What i can say about this game is that i am amazed by the content of the game, tho there are some ''downhills'' that make the game looking just like other games that have a rating under 7 in this webbsite.

When you for the first time log in and decide what character you want to play, you always test some ''alts'' before playing with a ''main''. After level about 2 alts to lvl 3 or something, you kind of lose your interest to the game.  As said the game has been developed since 1995-2007 and pretty much 10% of the game is released, there is no fun in that...

for once codemasters have failed to make a lovley game and i am sad to say it but i wish some other company had the rights to make the ''lord of the rings'' since they are very much faster and more experienced in mmorpg's.  I am not saying that codemasters is a bad company, i am just saying that they should stick to their usual RP/Action Games and maybe improve them a bit before going on the ''big deal''.

This game turned out to be a disapointment for me, there are no Roleplaying as a Faction on the dark side. But, they have added the so called '' Monsterplay''  to just cheer up the players for some variety then doing quests and instances pretty much through whole the game.

The Interface/UI is to advanced and the way to play your own character is pretty much boring, you click on a spell, whoom there it goes, do the same thing again '' beacuse there is no other effective spells/strikes''.

when i first time looked at the game when it was in beta, i got alot of comments from my friend that they have copied from world of warcraft, i got very curious about it and kept on waiting for the release and decided that i am going to play it, No comments will stop me!   .... When i logged in inside the game i thought it was aswesome.. but now when you have reached the 20th lvl , there is no motivation of keeping on playing the game..

The Graphics are very nice and sometimes i feel for standing still and look over the beautiful hills and woods and the waterfalls.. but so? that will not change anything.. i am not playing this for sightseeing.. i am playing this game for RP and WAR, but sadly.. non of them are good because there is not a good RP style.. and No ''big'' war at all...

i have put my cd back in the ''Old Games'' box, and stored them in my basement.. this game isn't a hit, sadly ...

    I have the feeling you wanted to play the game from the perspective of a warrior facing the horde in battle and perhaps being the horde trying to win. That actually would be a interesting game. That being said they made the game for a rather different crowd Id say. When Im playing LOTRO I feel like each region is fairly accurate to the time period the games taking place in. Just before the hordes surged north with Sharkey. Demolishing alot of the shire. You can feel the drums beating. Just not quite there. I personally loved it. I love searching out enemies. Wandering around and having a relatively normal life with pockets of evil.

  I guess the game has a rather large niche of players who enjoy its style and the people who dont like it as always are just as vocal as those who do. I think the game is a sucess. For the company and the people who enjoy it. Mayhaps youll like one of the games coming out? Im actually enjoying the WAR beta at this point , as well as the AOC. I think WAR will probably suit you best though.

Ummm, well every MMO is just like that pretty much, and this UI is so simple, so I don't understand how its in anyway advanced...hehe

Also, Secrow, Codemasters did not develop this game, Turbine did.

I'm afraid it's been said better than by me but the paraphrase is "the Lord of the Rings is told by the point of view of the free people in their struggle against Mordor. Because of this, Mordor, Orcs, etc are essentially agents of this struggle and only serve the purpose to drive the story".

This is why they are not fleshed out. If they were to release the entire world of Middle Earth then I could see the possibiliyt of haivng them as a player race but as it is, there really isn't a way to do this without diluting the game or the development.

Ya Turbine, you got me there :P.. tho you dont have 100% correct about the spell/strike system .. most of the in dev  games right now has a bit more variety of spells then this game wich have been in dev for 12 years Say example. this game those two people who replied on this post a bit earlier then you.. Warhammer online, the only variety of that comes in Lotro is Traits, and while WAR you have a chance to customize your character for diffrent type of spells.  Maybe an Example is Talents in World Of Warcraft.

 Thats what i am talking about, this game is limited to only freeps , it would be much nicer  to be able to play o n the other side as well .. but maybe that will never happen so why even give this game a shot.. Thanks

Secrow if you checked you would find that another company had the license back in 95, they dropped the project. It was picked up by another company vivedii(or something like that) who hired turbine to develeope it. Turbine got the license from this company and scrapped all the developement up to that point and started over. So the game that we are playing isn't the game that started in 95. It is not the game that started by the second company. It has not been in developement for 12 years.
