WTF.. got a bangin new computer, with an 8800GT 512 Video Card... hooked up to Samsung 30" Widescree

Thought I'd kick back on my sofa and cruise the web with my new PC hooked up to my HDTV. I'm using a Zotac 8800GT 512 video card with a HDMI adapter hooked up to my HDMI input on my Samsung 30" Widescreen TV. Got the new drivers. And it looks like POOP. The letters are fuzzy as hell.

Also, there is no sound, and the HDMI input on my TV has no sound inputs to go along with it, since HDMI should include sound and video. So how would I go about getting sound to my TV?

But the main thing is that if my TV cannot deliver a MUCH sharper picture then this, then hell, a $5 garage sale CRT will work much better then this crap I look at now. Uck.

My TV is a Samsung model TXS3082WHX.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone hooked up their computer to a HDTV and had good luck and a good picture?

Did you remember to set your screens for dual mode, and not clone? So that each screen has its own resolution?

Huh? It's only hooked to my HDTV, that's it.

Ah, okay. So, did you set the resolution to the t.v.s native res? Above/below res can cause the lettering to be blurry. I only asked about the dual stuff cause I run mine to my LCD and my t.v. both.

Heh, Yeh, I've tried that, but it's like 1920 x 1200 or something nuts like that and the letters are IMPOSSIBLE to see from 8 foot back from the TV on the sofa, heh.

Even the native resolution looks fuzzy as hell tho. And I've tried a lot of different resolutions at this point.

Apparently, there are four usable resolutions with that model:

    VersionSA01 Slimfit,Dolby digital,SRS surround,fiber optic digital out,upgrade USB port,2HDMI ports,S-video and component video(480i,480p,720p,1080i)16by9 letter box wide capable.

Also, since you said it's not playing sound either, maybe try finding an older driver. Have you tried hooking the card up through the S-video or RCA to check if it's only the HDMI messing up?
