it is true
Very much true and another point that cant be argued against the game now. Looks like they listened to the community Plus it shows nothing to hide, Im guessing someone somewhere will go on a "bender" and be level 80 come official release.
Hey Pay -to-play-OB & pay-to-play-early-access....heh talk about swindling what few customers they'll have out of their money! First time I've ever in my life seen an MMO charge for OB and early start....or just 1 or the other...this is insane!
...and yeah go ahead call me troll if u so desire! Doesn't change the fact that Funcom really sucks...

Your forgetting with LotrO EU servers, "only those who paid for the pre-order are able to play during the ten days prior to the April 24th launch on the European servers. "
"FilePlanet is pleased to announce that the European Beta Test of Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar has now begun exclusively on FilePlanet.com! FilePlanet subscribers can join this weekend's stress test, which will give them unlimited access to the rest of the beta." pay for beta. Players will be able to advance to level 15 and transfer that character if they decide to pre-order the game. Keep your character pay us money.
Europeans Only!!! http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/lotro/eu/restricted.aspx
Hey Avery... You are most likely correct...they will make 80...then complain about no end game content. I vividly remember that from LotRO.

Well big deal if EU has to pay....they should be used to getting screwed over! heh

its sad instead of enjoying the game people will try to rush to be high levels to give themselves an advantage for pvp....why play mmorpg if you just play to level why not find an mmo that is not an rpg? maybe a pokemon mmo game where you can have all the pokemon before everyone else and you can brag about that?
Yes no big deal when LOTRO does it.... but funcom are out to rob us blind!!

True, but you know large scale pvp is a few step process.
either
1. Wait for it, and join as merc if possible.
2. Form a guild build you PvE city from lvl 40 architect skills upwards more you learn better building you can build. Get you PvE city to a certain tier level.
2.1. Pay for you plot in the border kingdoms and use resources gathered from 2 to build there
2.2 Spend sometime building and maintaining your battlekeep
2.3 wait for another guild to come to attack / declare intentions
.......
So there will be a bit of a delay in the first few weeks anyway while guilds get settled and prepared, then it will just be a sequence of logistical planning, fighting and preperation.
Also, at level 80 the raid dungeons open up, thats 8 of them for launch. (if your into that)
With 197 confirmed members for launch im happy im in the guild im in of like minded people was most happy to kick the troll out in this thread.
Well this is actually a good way to test the game before buying it IMO, only costs you 5 bucks to get a full fledged view of the game. Temping, very temping. And with 10 days you don't have to rush to the store on release day to buy it. I'm impressed that Funcom listened to the masses and decided to do this.
*Hmm actually now that I think of it, maybe they will charge people for their preorders on the 17th.
Yes no big deal when LOTRO does it.... but funcom are out to rob us blind!!
Its a big deal when anyone does it, but since I'm not in EU....I could care less how much they get screwed over. Has nothing to with the game....

Glad to see funcom did what was right for once they tried to slide that cap in out of the blue and got called on it and by them changing it they atleast admit that was handled wrong so good job.
Glad you see it that way. There's one pre-order to rule them all.
And I can agree with you here. Good job on listening to the feedback FC. Alot of their news on the main website, suggests change from feedback is possible.

Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware
"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."

Lol no, khyshi, lotro sig poster.
Im glad they pushed it past 20, otherwise I would be sat around waitng to get off Tortage. Can start getting basic craft items by then most likely. Plus in Athelans last radio interview he said creating a guild starts at lvl 40 but im pretty sure this will or should be lvl 20 in game too.
good move
very good move am glad they decided to lift it

first off early acces is good due : it cost.. but so does game.. you pay for 10 days, second you dont need to worry preorder will arive 2 hours after servers up and you wont be first to hit lvl 2 , 4 days to grab ur copy from mail or anything .
ye if you dont preorder you might be angry about it.. but nothing stops you

lol empathy for your brother man ftw :P
Well the beta was bullshit, but the early access is so that people don't order the game and then cancel to get a 10 day trial. They give you 10 days for your $5 so you break even.
Have to say that funcom is not the only one that gives some sort of incentives to pre order.Virtually every mmorpg does this nowadays to boost inital sales ,so i don't see the problem.Be it some ingame item or be it early access or a beta slot .
