All I can say is I'm thankful EVE grants a 14 day trial. This isn't something I could pay for. I'm too used to Earth and Beyond's style of interface. Eve has a unrivaled learning curve. I'm sure once you learn the game, like any other thing in life its a breeze. The biggest peeve for me is the graphics issue. The game isn't locked to the desktop, the window is just a bit too big (edges off the screen in my 1024 x 768 resolution on my 17" monitor). If I had a 21" monitor, I could see increasing the resolution to accomadate the odd window size, but then I wouldn't be able to read the already WAY too small type font they use in the game. I'm squinting like crazy just to read anything. Ten out of ten for graphic beauty but minus several million for beginner functionality. I can't get past the tutorial. I've tried 3 characters and I never get to finish it because I can't. I get to trying to fit the ship with an upgrade and it doesn't continue. I'm sure an E&B player on here will say its no problem transitioning to EVE and the problems are my fault. Fine, whatever. It worked for you, not me.

Sorry to hear that you did not find Eve to your liking. I played EnB for almost 2 yrs and enjoyed my time in the game. I did find the change to Eve to be a bit strange but I had former guildmates from EnB that helped me out. They had been Eve for a few months by time I started to play.
Where you trying to play in full screen or window mode. I play the game in full screen with a 17in monitor and had no problems. I do not like window mode so I changed it right away.
As for the tutorial did you seek any in game help. I do not remember that part or it was after the bug the tutorial had when I started a few months back.
All I can say is I had very few problems switching from EnB to Eve. But that is me and everybody has different styles of play and maybe Eve is not yours.

I was one that switched from EnB to EVE as well. I personally was only surprised in good ways when switching to EVE, it had alot of the things which EnB didn't in my opinion. I thought the game looked fantastic and I was determined to learn alot about it, I just took the first few steps of the tutorial but then the tutorial stopped working (EVE vets would remember back in the day when the tutorial was bugged) and even so I went to the website and talked to people in the help channel and in local and in the new corp channel and over time I got all the information I needed. I guess it's partially about opinion and all that but it's also about determination, if you actually want to make it work, you can. Especially with the community EVE has today. The tutorial shouldn't be bugged anymore either, but even if it was there are many many other ways to figuring things out. But of course it's your choice how much you want to try, and I wish you good luck wherever else you go Ciao!

I love rain, the color gray, and small apartments.
I hate CS, the term n00b and this thing --> ^^
But that's just me.
