I can very much agree with what people are saying that it is similar to GWs (zoning-wise), which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The only thing I didn't like about GWs world was the fact that it was instanced, basically a reason why I only play the game anymore for the PvP aspect.
In defense of the OP, I don't think he was trying to offend people with different rigs than him. I'm pretty sure he understands that the game right now handles different systems very differently, which is basically one of their main issues. What he was upset about is alot of the BS that is arond these forums, but to the OP... it's something that you kind of expect at this point of a game.
It's a pattern that has gone around since the fall of Vanguard... every single game that has come out since then has been compared to Vanguard before it's launch, whether it be a right or wrong judgement. You can't really judge a game at this point by other people on forums, you have to try it for yourself and form your own opinion. Don't buy into the hype, but if the game looks interesting to you, try it out despite nay-sayers. I'm glad you enjoyed the game like I did, see you in-game on launch!

To OP: I won't call you a liar don't call others. It's a personal experience and all builds of the game right now there are players reporting performance issues that weren't there from prior builds. Not all, some, but not a little either. It's noteworthy for certain. Doesn't mean won't be fixed or game sucks overall. Just hard to play with bad performance.
Actually, I did not call anyone a liar. However, there's a whole lot of drama queens out there who are making the game sound much worse than it actually is.
For Example:
There's no more zoning in this game than there is in a lot of other games (COH, LOTRO, etc.) and from what I've seen, it's not a big deal or game breaking. I've read posts that say you are zoning every few steps. Wild exaggeration.
As far as the performance issues, I am not saying that some people aren't having technical issues. I am saying that the game is not in some broken unplayable state as many have stated. Again, wild exaggerations.

But, yes the game is not 100% and there are some Crashes when you zone, if you crash all the time, check out your Graph card, or you Ram.....

But not GW. All of the GW zones are instances where you are alone by yourself of with your group, you won't ever meet another player outside of the cities.
I am with the op. This game is great. Just iron out the kinks during these next couple of weeks and it is all good. i have ramped up a couple of characters and cannot wait till Saturday to fight away!

So far, I've encountered very few bugs, gorgeous graphics (best I've ever seen in an MMO), great gameplay, and a story that grabs your attention right from the start. All the whining about instancing seems silly as well. It's not game breaking or even very noticeable, and it certainly hasn't detracted from my gameplay thus far. How about accepting the fact some ppl don't like the game and maybe wonder wth your smokin as well? As far as the Eq2 comment sorry but Eq2 stomps a mudhole in AoC performance,quest wise,world immersion,I could go on and on and on.AoC is abit prettier and the armor is not so bland but Where it matters which is game play and immersion Eq2 blows this out of the water.

A. The skillbars do not originate from GW. If you want to look back into history and compare things, EQ and EQ2 is where all the stuff orginates from (Among other games, offcourse). The zoning does NOT compare to GW, but like someone else said: EQ2.

I actually ran the game quite nicely on my computer and I'd say it's about mid-range specs.
I'm NOT pre-ordering however. I've been in every beta test over the last few years of major games except for EQ1 and I've learned my lesson that you never play a game at launch. Even the almighty WoW was a POS at launch despite the fanbois trying to say it had a flawless launch. (better than many though, but not as good as some like my beloved EnB which also smelled like shit at launch)
I'll wait 3 or 4 months for the major bugs to get ironed out then pick it up. Seriously though the pre-order only gets you a mount as reward, by the one year anniversary it will probably be given away as a vet reward anyway so it's pointless if that's your only reason for pre-ordering.
