A need a new game, but all the new games stink

I really need a new game, but are there any games out there worth the time? I played Wow that got old quick. I tried Lotro its ok. What happened to extreme customizable MMO's. The best game I ever played was the text based game Gemstone3. Its been a while since I played it, but it was the most fun. Are there any new games with the features of this one. Everything in this game was customizable. You could design your own equipment with live merchants. Things took a really long time to obtain. There were items in which only one existed. There was always something more to be had. It took a couple years to obtain a max level. There were characters or items you always wanted to be like or wanted to have, that were a stretch to get. It was just some much more fun. Everyone in Wow is 70 level, there are a million of the same epic items.  Blah BLah. Is there any games out there like Gemstone3 that are of newer age???
