Project Entropia is free, to a certain point. What you got was probably the full game on the disc since it's free off the website anyways. The items in that game require real money which gets converted into "virtual money" which is then spent to buy weapons or whatever.

Don't do it. That game sucks and is a rip off...

No it is not free, allthough it claims to be. What you got on the Pc gamer disc is the same download you can get online. It is free to download and create an account, teoretically you can play for free but if you want to get any fun out of it you are going to have to put money in. Even more so if you aim to play it like most other mmorpgs are played then it will cost you a LOT. Most people get enough of "turning dimes" in real life to have to do it in their games to. On the other hand if money is no object for you and you can put in like 100$ a month I am sure you would enjoy it, all things aside it is a good game, destroyed by the $factor..

I'm not sure though, but I was under the impression you could actually make in game money on that game. And then transfer it into real $$$.

I disagree with post of the points that have been made. Project Entropia is totally free and is a great game. You have the option of putting money in which many people do but it is not necessary. My brother has a very decent character and about 500 PED (Project Entropia Dollars) and he has not put any money into the game

It doesn't contain that many roleplaying elements and there are no quests which is one of the reasons i stopped playing it. But this doesn't mean its not an interesting and exciting game.

Where did you found the demo? (i know PCGamer, but which issue?

There is a reason many banks will not let you charge Project Entropia to your credit card.

Many banks have been rejecting it as gambling...

Not to mention the developers will let bugs steal gear and ammo from you (which costs real money) and not give you your stuff or your money back.

I have also heard of the nightmares people have been going though trying to get their money back after making a profit in the game.

Nothing professional about the company making that game. Nothing...
