    I wrote a review of AoC where I talk about the specs (HERE). My conclusion was this.

    The System requirements will be the make or break factor for players of this game. Do not be reassured about meeting the minimum specs...you must significantly beat them

    Do not go with a P4, do not go under 2gb RAm, you must do better than a 128 Mb card. It seems the consensus that VISTA puts you at a disadvantage with this game.

        * Recommended Specs:

    for an example, a 3100 sempron, 1.5gb ddr ram, ATI x1300pro AGP is not enough to really run the game.  Oh, it will boot and it will play, but you will be at a severe disadvantage with it.  That machine does beat the min specs listed (but not by much), but 4-8fps (average) isn't enough to really PLAY the game.

    I never liked minimum specs...they always seem to come back and haunt you.

    Minimum requirements seem to never be enough.  I would never run a game where I don't meat the reccommended.

    I have always thought minimum specs were what's required for the game to be able start, not actually work properly tho.

    Try to get the recommend specs. I tried to play with an ATI X1600, 2 gigs of RAM, and a dual-core 2.0ghz intel processor and it was laggy, hitching, and looked pretty bad.

    I have almost the exact same rig as you, except that I'm running intel and you have AMD.  Expect 40-50 FPS outside of town, 20-30FPS inside, High settings @ 1920x1200 resolution with 2x AA and bloom turned off.

    I have the same amount of RAM, same GPU and a Core2Duo @ 3.2ghz.  My GPU is even overclocked.

    I consider it playable if you like soloing and small group play.. but not if you're interested in end game PvP and dungeon raids.  I'll be purchasing a 9900GTX when it comes out.  Or you could get a second 9800GTX.. either way.

    So yea, if you want all the eye candy and mind blowing FPS, you need a top of the line computer.  The game still looks decent on low settings though.  It's all a matter of preference.

    Yeah, I might just do that.

    Buy the 9900 when it comes out and sell off my 9800 to help pay for it =P
