We can't even percieve the majority of our own universe including the layers right in front of our face.

There is much out there that we cannot prove and comprehend and as such we have no proof for it. That doesnt mean it isnt out there. Can you prove to me that you didnt daydream about megan fox today??
Not saying darkfall is one of these great mysteries just saying i dont think that quote is as twisted as you think, thinking we know alot about our world, THATS twisted...

Actually, we perceive plenty about the universe that cant be seen with the naked eye, touched, smelled, heard, or tasted.  We can do that because these things have a physical effect on the natural world.  In essence, they are predictable via hypothesis and can be independantly tested.

Of course we have much to learn, but chasing after things that CANT be tested does not add to our knowledge.  You dont attempt to prove negatives.  I cant prove Zeus doesnt exist, as I cant be everywhere at once.  I CAN say that lack of evidence make his existance highly unlikely.  Only those that claim Zeus DOES exist are required to provide proof.

Agreed, however I'm not saying we dont perceive plenty, we do, we simply don't percieve NEARLY as much as we believe we do. Also many of those changes are so subtle we cant percieve or comprehend.

Regardless this is a topic none of us can speak factually about and only use our opinions.

To avoid a pointless debate on semantics, I’m sure we can just agree to disagree about the accuracy of your statement “vaporware = any game in development”.

Aventurines approach backs up and fits with protecting IP.

And it also backs up and fits with many other explanations many of which are potentially a lot less positive.

If you can tell me the finer detail about their development then I will concede the competetive advantage may not exist,

I think the real question is when will the developers tell us (preferably show), the only reason we are debating this is precisely because they have so far appeared incapable of doing so.

Do you not think that perhaps you should concede the possibility that protecting there IP is not necessarily the only explanation for them not to reveal “finer details“ or even very many basic details?

But to be honest you wont be able to as the development is protected.

Again that is not the only possible explanation for why so little of the game has been revealed, despite how convenient or reassuring it might be.

And it contradicts common practice regarding pre- launch promotion for most MMO’s that are near 6 months from launch, of course I’m sure you will assure me that the developers do not need to conform to normal industry practices for various reasons.
Regardless of the state of their product you can't compete against something you know so little about.

Of course you are forced to make many assumptions about this games potential Competitiveness, like the true value of its IP, or whether or not anyone is even interested in that IP or could possible get any conceivable advantage from a more normal PR approach on the part of the developers to support your IP protection explanation.

When there are many other explanations that are a lot simpler and rely on a lot less speculation or assumption to support them, but which are a lot less convenient or reassuring which is probably why anyone needing to be optimistic about this game would not consider them first.

    Ok, I'll bite.

Who exactly? Can you name them and give us an overview of the conversation you had?

I realize that you're a pretty busy guy. I mean, with all the trolling and bashing you do on the AOC forum and all. It must be exhausting. But as downtoearth, you "wink, wink" guarantee lots of stuff, so I figure you must have "inside" information and can educate us all with your great knowledge.

In fact. I remember reading several posts of yours in January and early February "guaranteeing", "wink, wink", beta in June of this year. Personally I can't wait.

Perhaps you can inform me as to where I can sign up?

well pc world doesn't come of as very trustworthy when they don't even know how long the games they put on the list have been in development for, Darkfall went into development in December 2003 so that makes it 4 years and 6 months at this point in time.
