Hi All:
I understand that MMORPG.com only covers graphical MMOs. I am wondering.... why? What is the reason that the site excludes web-based and MUD games?

Because that's not what the site is about. As good a reason as any other.
Hum... I just think that web-based games is a sub-category of MMOGs. Perhpas MMORPG.com ruled it out because the small amount of people are playing those games?

the same reason you can't get fondu in any restaurant.
Because the people who do it are too ashamed to admit it and do it at home.
98% of the teenage population does or has tried smoking pot. If you''re one of the 2% who hasn''t, copy & paste this in your signature.
I am sorry but I don't fully understand what you saying. Would you please further elaborate a little more? Please.

the point would be non graphic mmo's were something back in the day, but now their a basement type deal.
Fondu was big in the day, and restaurants served it, it was a huge party thing.
Now its something you hardly ever see in the light of day.

For one thing there are loads and loads of web based games and they just don't fit the category. Most of the games which are included are ones which you buy from a shop. Free MMOs you have to download and web based games just don't fit....
We're all Geniuses. Most of us just don't know it.
?
there are too many. way to many.
and the player base that uses them typically wouldn't be interested in this type of site, atleast from my experiance.
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
This site is focused on MMORPG ONLY. They don't consider web base games here, maybe you can pray that they would approve to create a seperate section for it.
Exactly, it's MMORPG.com. There are other places where you can find different types of games though.

text based games are MMO's. as a matter of fact the average successful text based game falls more into the MMO category by having thousands of people noninteracting and logged in at the same time, even interacting with people that are. better RPG stuff because you are and always will directly affect the world, have direct owner ship in it, and form identical type of bonds that you do in the graphical versions of MMO's.
I consider something like astroempires a better example of an MMO than your everquest-ish type graphical MMO.
