I am trying to figure this out

My computer craped out about 2 weeks ago so i sent it in and they aid the hard drive was bad. ok ill just wipe everything on my hard drive and download swg again. well i have the problem of only 100Gb of space and too much stuff on my comp. so i look at it and say well swg is the 5th biggest file i have so lets forget about that and just download it again. new problem i don't know if your chars are stored on there hard drives or ours? and if there sored on ours does anybody know what file they are so i can save just those and wipe everything else?

Everything pertaining to characters is stored server side.

All MMO characters are primarily stored on the servers.  Therefore if you deleted the game, or wiped your harddrive and then reinstalled the game, one of the things that happens when you log in for the first time is that your "client" side copy of the game downloads specific details about your characters again from the main servers.

 

So don't worry, your chars are safe either for an undisclosed period on the servers (which these days is usually indefinate) or until you delete the character yourself from inside the game.

 thanks i was really worried that i wasn't going to be able to keep all my characters.
