looking for a Wow clone

WarddenWardden Member Posts: 119

I love wow, I have played most pay-2-play mmorpgs since everquest and it has kept me interested the longest. I am however now done with it and would like to play on of these wow clones I have been hearing about. I found both vanguard and lotro lacking and have played way to much eq2. Suggestions anyone?Free or pay to play it does not matter just similar game play to WoW! Thanks in advance!

Honestly IMO just about every MMO out there now adays is a WoW clone, so in theory you have plenty to choose from.

If you mean that every fantasy based MMO has races, classes, a UI, swords, magic and you have to pay per month for the better ones.....yeah I suppose they are.

The irony is WoW is just an EQ clone (as far as MMO), beyond that nothing is really original just refinement on past systems. To the OP there are alot of trials available for the MMORPGs that are live atm. Just give em a try!

    Cheers!

MMO Vet since AOL Neverwinter Nights circa 1992. My MMO beat up your MMO. =S

Some would argue that EQ was an evolution of UO....funny how it all turns out isn't it.

Blizzard studied a lot of successful mmos, and took some good features from them.

A lot of games can be like WoW, just with some problems

    Hmm, perhaps ArchLord?

There is a game called Last Chaos and it is very good. It is similar to WoW in many ways and it is free.

No offense, but Last Chaos felt NOTHING like WoW when I played it...

Perfect World on the other hand reminds me alot of WoW, if you can get past the Engrish.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Lord of the Rings Online yet -

I played and enjoyed WoW for about 6 mos when it first came out, then got tired of it. LOTRO is very similar, is also very polished, and has an interesting take on some of the standard MMO-fantasy classes (I really enjoyed the concept of the minstrel-healer).

Sure, if you go back far enough every game took something from every other game, but as far as feel and gameplay, LOTRO and WoW are the closest match for me.

And unlike when most people say something "reminds them of WoW" on these boards, I don't mean that as a slam at either game. ;)

Like lots of people already said lots of games are WoW clones. But I would suggest trying other games such as (Perfect World, Last Chaos, Rakion etc etc).

Talisman Online - HUGE Wow clone.  They even have the same colored ring around the enemies, just like wow

Wow, Rakion is NOTHING like WoW. It's not even the same genre.
