Apparently funcom made a little oops... they still had their webpage up from april 16th stating that All preorders would get early access.  After posts in the official forums they quickly pulled the page down. But not before it was copied, pasted and distributed.

What a lieing piece of crap company.

Go ahead fanbois... play the verbage game now.

Meh Funcom got their money so they're happy. Besides the fanbois don't really care as long as Funcom doesn't screw up the game directly.

A human and an Elf get captured by Skaven. The rat-men are getting ready to shoot the first hostage with Dwarf-made guns when he yells, "Earthquake!" The naturally nervous Skaven run and hide from the imaginary threat. He escapes. The Skaven regroup and bring out the Elf. Being very smart, the Elf has figured out what to do. When the Skaven get ready to shoot, the Elf, in order to scare them, yells, "Fire!"

Funcom has always stated that the pre-order does not include early access and you would have to fork over $5 to get into the Early Access.  They have also always stated that spaces are limited.

Problem is that a lot of players don't like to read and/or have a severe reading comprehension problem that they can't understand what is posted.

So you think all the money from pre-orders goes to FC? Now they can pack up their bags and just leave things as they are? So all the money made to date went straight to FC. The suppliers n shippers, employees, artists n all just donated their time? Perhaps they banks/financial institutions just gave them money outta the goodness of their heart too? The game stores just sold the game for pure enjoyment? The servers for the game were just donated?

Saying anygame got their wee bit of money is about the dumbes friggen comment that can be made. If you know jack about business you would know it takes alot more than a few thousand dollars to pay off a multi-million dollar project.

Dumbest*? Anyways, you make it sound like Funcom got $0. $0. $0 from ALL those pre-orders and the $5 bucks from early access. If that's true, then MMOs take more money than I thought !

Taken from the site they so quickly pulled.  Funcom = Busted

and today Funcom ups the ante and confirms that everyone who pre-orders may access Hyboria several days prior to the retail launch.*

    * The early access program is only available with certain retailers. A participant list can be found on the official Age of Conan websites. The early access is entirely voluntary, and opens up on the 17th of May for Oceanic and North American gamers, and on the 20th of May for European gamers. Pre-loading of the client will commence in advance. You need to pay a nominal 5 USD / EUR fee to take advantage of the offer, which includes client download and 10 days of subscription. When the early access offer expires you must enter the physical retail box gamekey to continue playing.

Don't see chance, limited etc etc in that statement..

Creative marketing, lies and failed comitments.

    See, I'm a nitpick, who's next?

Who cares anyways?  In a few weeks, do those couple of days really matter?  If you weren't fast enough to get your act together, that's your fault.

Keep trying to stir the pot.  Mostly those of us who are going to try out the game don't give a damn what little piss ants like you think of how funcom handled this whole thing.  If having to wait 3 extra days to play a video game causes people to stroke out the way this has then I weep for the gaming community.

For a guy that's not gonna play this lame game u spend to much time researching Funcom's sites don't u think?

Duh, if he didn't then he'd be written off as an uneducated troll.

If someone shows up to my door, it likley won't get answered because I'll be playing AoC with all the other early access players.  You, on the other hand, will have a couple free nights to refine your fecal fantasies.

Some people are such a sad spastics.

They don't get into the EA and instead of posting in the generel topic about it on the funcom forums they go spam around the web that funcom is a shit company, like really go get some air or something.

Got me on a typo...you win.

N you make is sound like they are rolling in the money from a few early access accounts. They will get some..but not enouph to make their investors jump with joy or to pay all the bills.

Well the public has a right to know. Just like fanbois have a right to defend lies and mismarketing and troll.
