has Funcom release any info on a free trial?

I got into the fileplanet beta, which we all know was a mess. After about after a week, I got bored TRYING to move ingame and uninstalled the client. Apparently upon release we were promised a new client that would fix all the problems. I'm not going to toss away 50 dollars on a promise from an MMO company. We all know how that turns out.

Has there been any word on a free trial? i would like to try the game if i can actually play it using the "godly client". If not does anyone want to toss me a buddy key if they're giving them out?

Free trial will not be there immediately after realse, of course.  I would not be surprised if one was implemented deveral months after a release.

LOTRO had a few months before they had their trial so I wouldn't expect one straight away.

Yeah, with this hype they have there wont be a free trial any time soon.

As a matter of fact the server's overpopulation may be a much bigger issue at the beginning ...

unless you have a high spec system that you ve purchased in the last six months i would nt even consider buying age of conan unless you ve tried it first . you may read a lot of posts saying that people can run it on mid range systems but there are as many saying how badly it runs on them . so you really do need to see for yourself first and they you can judge weather its worth getting . speaking for myself and everyone i know personally who has tried the age of conan beta on a mid range pc ( meaning pentium dc 2.5-.3.5 ghz nivdea 8500-8800 and 2 -4 ghz ram as a rough guide ) has had huge performance problems when entering populated areas even on the lower settings.

i  am hoping the release client is a vast improvement and less of a system hog than the beta . the game itself looks pretty good ( if your fortunate enough to have a powerful enough machine to play it on ) and i hope it does well.

if you have any doubts , the chances are you ll be wasting your money and be disapointed . as for a free trial i think even a 3 day one would answer a lot of people questions about the release client and how well it will run on thier pc . i doubt there will be one at least for a few months.

i myself would nt go by the required specs either . while the game will play on them it may not be well enough to your liking .  i think these forums will be full of posts withing the next week made by disgruntled people who assumed the game will play smoothly on thier mid range system .

Hmmm.. Sounds like SOE"S version of Vanguard.  Make a game it takes a mainframe to run. :)  I see Funcom doing the same with AOC, that SOE did with Vanguard. Keep it going, but not offer much in the way of real updates or new content because of unrealistic system specs.  I'll probably never see it, even with a free trial.  Hello AOC, Goodbye AOC!

Expect one by WAR's release. I could see AoC strategically releasing their trials by that time, and if not then, around November/December before Christmas. It's all about "when's the smartest time" from a marketting standpoint. With something as fragile as MMOs when it comes to making everything perfect, FC should be smart enough to know when it is the right time to execute anything and how they execute it.

If they release trials too early it will make FC look desperate. If they release them too late then it derives the point of pushing out trials; to get players at the most crucial time. But in all honesty, when to release trials is FC's smallest issue to worry about at the current state of time.

Expect it sooner than most games or much much later as they dont want to give people a free trial to a game with the holes they currently have.

    I would guess sooner
