Looking for MY ultimate MMORPG

malfarionmalfarion Member UncommonPosts: 25

Hello, and welcome to my thread - were I am asking for advices to find a MMORPG I would like.

What I wish in my MMORPG, are the following things:

  • Playerhousing - Just like Star Wars Galaxies (enough said).
  • Player Vs Player - Probably like World of Warcraft
  • Deep crafting system.
  • Active players.
  • No need to spend lifetime to have fun with others (SWG was great at that pre-cu).
  • Fee or no fee, doesnt matter.
  • Not a machine killer! (Computer speccs not needed to be a powerhouse).
  • Open areas, not just some dungeons that have been instances (not a must!).

What I already have tried:

  • Star Wars Galaxies
  • World of Warcraft (+Burning Crusade)
  • Lord of the rings online
  • City of Villains/heroes
  • Saga of Ryzcom (dead now)
  • Guild Wars
  • Final Fantasy

Thank you for your time.

-Malfarion.

Oh yeah, almost exactly what I want, except for the spec part. And most f2p mmos are bad, and they'll force you to buy items for real money in the end, anyway.

This is the best signature ever. Well, it is really up to you to decide. :x

so...you basicly want a new pre-cu?  If you do, go to www.swgemu.com  It's an emulator for the pre-cu, and it's pretty sweet.  It's not quite done yet, but it's come pretty far and for the most part, the community is pretty nice.  Still, i'd suggest you avoid the IRC, it's pretty hostile in there.  I recently stopped going to the irc, actually, for that very reason.  By the way, you can play it, but it's not going to have all of the features.

P.S.  I cannot stress this enough, it's legal and read the FAQ...

I would recommend you to try out Anarchy Online. Its the deepest mmorpg I have ever tried, and they are currently brushing up the GFX engine to become more modern (guess AoC is bringing in enough cash for Funcom to bring up AO to 2008 standards) Give it a shot.. You either hate it , or wont play anything else for years.. But be aware of a steep learning curve.

    • Playerhousing - Just like Star Wars Galaxies (enough said). ( You get an appartment , or luxury appartment where you can store your furniture and invite friends)
    • Player Vs Player - Probably like World of Warcraft (Volunteer PvP)
    • Deep crafting system. (Very hard crafting. You often have to figure out yourself how stuff is made)
    • Active players. (Yes, always lots of players in cities, and I guess there will be even more players once the GFX is updated)
    • No need to spend lifetime to have fun with others (SWG was great at that pre-cu). (Have fun alone or with others. Dont have to take to long. I often log in just to fly to the nearest boss and kill him and check if he got any cool loot when I got about 10 mins to play)
    • Fee or no fee, doesnt matter. (Free without expansions or 14.95$ if you want expansions)
    • Not a machine killer! (Computer speccs not needed to be a powerhouse). (heh, not a machine killer)
    • Open areas, not just some dungeons that have been instances (not a must!). (lots of em... LOTS)
