Failed to initialize rendering subsystem

Keeps coming up when I try to launch AoC. I understand this could be an issue with my drivers? This was seemed to be a common issue in beta. I can't even get to the login screen so that defeats the purpose of me having EA. 

Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

I havn't seen anything on this issue but if it were me I'd try updating DX and reinstalling my drivers.

Update your video card drivers.  I had an older  driver for my video card and it wouldn't load up-- so I'm pretty sure you just need to upgrade them to the latest.  I think I was using like 169.02 and the current is 175.xx

 

Try that first before you try anything else.

if you are running an ATI graphics card, make sure you have the official "hotfix" drivers installed, you can find them here:

Still not getting past this. Even though I've updated my drivers...

 

Anyone else have any suggestions? =/  I could really use the help.

Well then yer fucked.

Try contacting the AOC dev team about it.

I am having the same problems sometimes it works another day it does not lozs.

What are your computer specs? Also did you update the directx? If not go to www.microsoft.com/directx and get the latest version I think from March.

Unfortunately, this error message usually means your video card does not meet the minimum system requirements to play Age of Conan. If you are trying to play the game from a laptop, this is almost certainly the case. You can check the system requirements on the game box or at our website.

If you feel your card should meet the minimum requirements, be sure you have installed the proper drivers for it. If you are using the standard "plug n play" drivers from Windows, and did not install the manufacturer's drivers for your card (from ATI or NVIDIA, for example) you may also see this error.

If you have done all the above and still receive the error, it most likely means your video card is not technically able to run Age of Conan.
