What kind of BS is this ...
I pre-ordered and got my pretty little card. I carefully read the fine print. It informed me that it entitled me to some mount (yay...) and early access (the reason I bought it).
Now, the day it is supposed to go live, I am informed that I can not download nor play the game?
I'm pissed off beyond belief. So is everyone on every forum everywhere.
Too many years in development. Too many bugs in late beta. And now this?
I'm giving my pre-order back.
This game will flop. I'm sorry to say that because I was very optimistic and excited for it. I tried to be positive when everyone else was tearing it apart. This was the last straw.

lol just wait till the 20th, if you waited years you can wait a few more days,
If you didn't register for Early Access before today and/or before the cutoff for Early Access applications, you only have yourself to blame.
Yea, chill dude
Im currently in the state of, life.. no life.. life.. no life... meaning should i order AoC or not..
Also will my laptop amd64x2 1.9 ghz 2 gig ram, and a gf7000 graphic run AoC at min settings atleast?
Mne eto nado kak zuby v zadnitse.
Why?
Are you retarded?
Nowhere on the card does it stipulate that there are limited supplies. The early access program was the reason I pre-ordered.
The EA actually got shut down on the 14th as per the following article:
http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/05/age-of-conans-e.html
It's just a matter of time before this game takes it's place in line after Vanguard for the biggest budget flops in the history of gaming.

Jord. save this thread. read it in ten years. then laugh at yourself.
Dummy, even if you did get early access to the game, after registering for it today, you still would not be playing until probably Monday night or Tuesday morning. You'd have to download the game and update it. Please us some common sense. You're the only one to blame. Talk about waiting until the last minute to register . . .
Hell, I'm not even all that smart and I figured out how to get in. I'm in game right now (dual monitors - Yay!) and having a blast. It's not rocket science.
There is no better MMO out right now, and I can say that with absolute certainty.
Back to the game!
This just in... AoC flopped according to pissed of forum troll...
I'm in the game right now, and havn't heard a bad word about it from the people playing.
No, this game will be far from a flop.
Nope, he is not to blame. Many "normal" customers who were not searching the formus had no way to know. Even many major retailers didn't know.
OP, stay cool. It's only a couple more days...
Why?
Are you retarded?

They didn't anticipate the spike of early access subscribers. It was in a post on their forums from the Community Manager. It's closed now because there's no server space left and they're currently allocating more servers for release.
If you're pissed because the game is being successful even before launch, you're pretty retarded. You should have signed up for Early Access THE DAY you got your card.
I am not going to mock the op like some of the people replying. My card said that I have the option to participate in early access program but restrictions apply and to see the websiite, the url was provided on the card, for full information about those restrictions. When I followed the instructions and went to the sight it informed me that there were a limited number of slots available and that I had to register by the 14th. I did all of this and am now playing the game. Well not right this second, but you get my drift. The way I interepreted the card was that I have the option of registering and I may or may not be able to do this depending on how long I procrastinated to sighn up, but I read alot into things.
From the look of this post im guessing that this is not the first time that you have been a victim of your own procrastination, once again to all those who did not get it EA was meant so that you buy the product go home a register is not sit on it and try and get in on the START of EA and then rant because you were too late, grow up.
this entire thread makes me worried. Talk about a bunch of immature brats. I guess the wow kids are invading Conan after all sigh
Didnt we just do this thread about 500 times already?
I love how up in arms you guys get when someone has an issue with the pre-order. Yeah OK, technically, it did say that EA was limited in some of the released information, if you did what you should have done and reserched it. Yet I still haven't heard one question answered in any of these threads where someone pre-orders and doesn't get access...
Why is the EA limited in the first place?
I mean really, if FC has the servers in place (which with the release a few days away, they'd better be ready to go), what would be the point in making it a limited early access to begin with?
It'd be like taking your kids to McDonalds and ordering a Happy Meal for your kids, and knowing that the only reason why kids want a happy meal, and the only reason why you wind up paying a bit more for said happy meal, is to get that little crappy toy inside.... and then finding out you didn't get the toy this time. You kids are crying, throwing food everywhere, making a scene... and all you can think is, "It's a happy meal, it's supposed to have a cheap toy inside. I was promised a cheap toy. How hard is it to put a toy in a cardboard box??"
Horrid Analogy, I know. My point being this: There shouldn't be a loophole like fine print saying "limited EA". Period. Even the fanbois should know this, unless you got access, in which case you probably don't care about who doesn't get access.
Now don't get me wrong, I do hope this game goes off. It looks to have promise, and I'd like to be able to give it a go someday. I just hear too many complaints about beta issues yet to be resolved, loading screens, and now with pre-order issues, I just think back to games in the past with launch issues... and I think i'll just watch from a distance until after release, maybe everything will smooth out after launch.
Yes, this is number 501
this is the post that should forever stop these rants about how bad funcom is because i did not get into EA, follow simple guidlines and you will have all the information you needed. FC didnt screw you, they didnt lie to you, they simply placed an amount allowed into the program and then let retail and players handle the rest.
Edit: niceguys post not mine.
Also, you guys need to understand that EA was never garunteed just by preordering. EA was an option you had to pay five dollars for.
As soon as I bought the preorder I registered the key. Don't blame us or Funcom for your failures.
I bought the preorder but I didn't bother with the early access. Still, reading the back of my box I think it is extremely misleading, to the point they should offer refunds to those who expected to get in.
Text on back of preorder box from Best Buy:
"Begin creating your character(s) and start playing up to 3 days before the release of the game. (Requires internet connection, credit card, and $5 download fee."
No where in this statement does it say early access is limited. They knew of the high demand for the game based on the preorders. They should have been ready to accomodate those who purchased the preorders.
I think preorder refunds are in order, for those that want them.
Thank you. I'm actually 36 years old, but you made me feel younger
Seriously. I didn't mean to offend you. But this forum got so many whiners, WAR trollers etc making me puke.
When Funcom announced about the Early Access, they stated it was "limited". If the customers did not catch it, it's probably because the resellers where sloppy informing about it.
To bad your not gonna play AOC. I was in the Open Beta, and I can promise you. It's a really good game.
RL is being invaded by WoW kids, too!
OMG RUNNNNNNNNNNNN.
(No, seriously, this is life. Get used to it. All MMOs are the same - kids everywhere, people being pen1ses behind percieved anonymity, etc.)

That's what happened to me. I pre-ordered the game, but didn't get the card for the War Mammoth and Early Access until yesterday when I went and picked up my copy of AoC. By then, the EA thing was done.
Ah well. It's only a few more days. I've got plenty to do in LOTR to keep me busy until then. *shrug*
