It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!
What sucks more is actually getting in, being charged the $5, downloading and patching everything perfectly numerous times over, reinstalling your drivers and then updating other drivers, spending all day messing with your computer
yet still getting the "Failed to initialize rendering subsystem" error popping up every time you try to launch the game. After three days I STILL havent seen the login screen...
I have an Early Access account and have given up my arm and leg to get this game to work... and I still cannot play.
I want my money back. Too bad it's near impossible to contact FunCom -_-
Hope that made all you whiners about EA a bit more content...
Comments
Lets try fix the problem instead of bitching about it eh
WHat gfx card are you running with. Also, list your operating system, CPU, DX version ect
Thanks but at this point I've had enough. I'm done trying.
Anyone want a EA account?
...yes
sure pm me
I agree with Spardasoul, but ultimately its up to you. I do wonder how you could actually be trying to log in for the last three days, when the early access just started yesterday.
As far as your driver issues and whatnot, how about posting up your comp specs and seeing if one of these guys/gals can be of some help.
And if you think your lack of being able to get in is bad, mine is worse.. I ordered a new pc for AoC and wont be seeing it for at least 9 or so more days lol.
Then again, maybe thats a big plus for me... as most of the launch probs should be ironed out.
I'll take it...pleaaaaaaase! I'll do anything!
You have a Video card issue - has nothing to do with AoC. Like the second poster said lets try to figure out your problem and get you up and running.
My first suggestion is download the current DirectX build http://www.filehippo.com/download_directx/
Not login. But getting to the login screen since I've downloaded the game.
I'm almost positive it is thanks to my video card. But trying to play on a laptop presents its share of problems. Most of the motherboard on which I can't really change anything.
At this point I'm not looking to try to "fix" it. I've accepted that it's just not going to work. I just wanted to rant by making this post. XD Thank you for all the replies though.
Hopefully the CDs will work differently. If not then I hope I can be refunded =]
Have you tried adjusting the system memory texture cache size in the advanced video option. It mentions something about laptop shared memory.
If you havent given it away yet I would use the account.
op did you get my pm
I mean...rant all you wish...but, your success depends on getting help, and expecting Funcom to drop server opening to get your system going?...well...that was a crazy thought
I wish you the best...
the cds/game are not the problem, it is your pc. i would just cancel/send back your cds for a refund, do not even open it. also, if you posted your specs, it might be a bit easier to tell you what is causing it. (and it sounds to me from that error, your graphics card does not meet the requirements)
unless you got a few grand to spend on a pc why would you game on a laptop?
"For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, 'If I live, I will kill you. If I die, You are forgiven.' Such is the rule of honour..."
well why would funcom have to refund your money when your laptop doesn't meet the requirement?
I think your laptop is using 1gb ram? Celeron? intergrate onboard video card.
I have a Dell XPS M1710 Gaming Laptop from 2006. I used it to play Wow before. But like I said before I'm continuely getting an error on my laptop which is only... what two years old and was top of the line back then... I didn't think this would be such an issue.
As for my EA account you're all deserving but it'd wouldn't be fair for me to pick one and not the others. I'm going to let one of my coworkers play on it for the remaining two days.
Thank you for all the replies and the comments. It helped me make my many decisions. XD
After asking if anyone on here wants it. Way to disappoint. Are you sure you dont work for a mmog company?
But again we need hardware specs. Until you post them and want real help I think your just trolling.
It's your drivers. Go back to a previous version.
Dell XPS M1710, Windows XP Professional (I haven't upgraded to Vista yet...), Core 2 Duo T7400 2.16 Ghz (also another issue), 2 GB DDR2, GeForce Go 7900 GS 256 MB, 80 GB 7200 rpm HD
Oh and I also have an portable hard drive with 120 GB connected.
if you are haveing authentication/log in problems
It is not your PC, several people have gotten into the EA and have had their credit cards charged the 5 dollars and still cant login, it is a screw up with the key you used.
Another problem people had was they were able to log in and play but couldnt claim their in game items, so gms told them to log out and enter their retail box code if they had them and when they did it canceled their ea access.
Don't listen to these people thay have no idea what is going on except to KS everyone.
Now list to me and all will be well......... Toss the Puter out the window and get a Girlfriend 2 x fishing rods
1 x Dog and Live the real life.
You will thank yourself later.
Have a great day.
There is apparently a problem with the GeForce Go 7 series with AoC, guild mate has one in his laptop and has exactly the same issue.
nVidia are "aware" of the issue and your best bet is to grab as many drivers as possible from the last 12 months and see which one works (if any)
That doesn't sound like an authentication problem whatsoever...
