The ONLY thing I really didn't care for in AoC was the HUD design. I really didn't like how each screen [Character/InventorySkills and Combos etc.] Roll in from both sides, limiting what you can see at any given time.
You cannot move or resize the areas at all, and I could be wrong about this but you can't change the transparency either.
Also, if you would like to look at two of those windows at the same time, it's just not possible.
The Quest window was alright, but not the best design I've ever seen either...
Other than that, the game is damn fine and fun!
Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.

ui is definitive one of my minus points too. can it be modded btw?
Ive only found two things with the game so far that needs work, mouse targetting and i think its called collision detection,i get stuck to objects occasionally.Have to say overall this game is pretty damn good otherwise.

About the mouse targetting. You can't sticky a target which I at first thought was a serious design flaw. Earlier today I stood on a hilltop overlooking a wide area in Connals valley (I think it is). I can see players very far, but I can't see who they are or anything else. There's no bar or name above their head unless they're pretty close.
I found this annoying at first, but then it got me thinking. If someone doesn't move or hide in the bushes they're pretty good hidden. If they move - like in real life - you can easily spot them. The terrain is awesome in AoC. Lots of colour differences, brushes, trees and fields with different flowers. You can actually use the terrain to your advantage in this game, because there isn't a stupid health-/name-bar above your head giving your position away.

Hey thanks for the links glad to see you can tweak it. I DO have a very nice widescreen btw I just don't like the current set up of it personally. But thanks again for the links!

I thought I read somewhere what after having 1 20, you wont need to go through that heavily instanced area again for other alts -- maybe thats a future feature
you really have to do that on all chars? i read that too, and i thought its allready in (but did not create an alt yet).
tortage is a good intro for getting in conan world the first time, but the questlines are not that different for soldier, mage, rogue and healer so the replay value of that is very limited and people that like playing multiple alts will get bored soon. i really hope they make an option to skip tortage for future chars.

Read post above you. There is a folder named "Customized gui" in the game dir for a reason

It's the best MMO ever created, but... the PvP system needs some tweaking. Not the combat system, but the ruleset.
