graphics card question

I really dont have the cash to upgrade for at least a few more weeks. I would absolutely love to go and pick up the game today..however im not sure if my graphics card will handle the game....even if i could play on the lowest settings i would be very happy. the graphics card im using now is..

ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 series. 256mb

Now before you jump me and tell me how crappy my card is i went to the "caniplayit" website and it says the card doesnt meet the requirements but under that everything is green and says im fine...thats why im a little confused.

I also have a spare card but its not hooked up...its a VisonTek X300 256 mb card. I could install that if you think it would be better? I really dont know much about computers i just like gaming. Ive played WoW, SWG, L2, EQ2, Vanguard etc etc. Im sure you guys are tired of threads like this but any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Ive done a few googles and im struggling, is that an onboard gpu?

At any rate, if its not heard of, it definately wont play it.

Check if your PC has PCI-E if so, get a 7800 GTX, they're cheap and they will play conan on low. You also want to look at your CPU/memory. if your using VIsta you need 3gig, XP 2gig. CPU needs to be at 2.5mhz+ and if it is lower you may want to consider using a sound card to relieve CPU usage.

The first one i listed is the on-board one. The 2nd one i bought at the store for vanguard. Im really at a loss. The "caniplayit" site rejects my card...but under the rejection it goes on to list the features of the card and everything is green. I just dont understand... :(

I've been soo excited for this game and i only recently found the "caniplayit" site and had no idea id need massive upgrades. Have you heard of anyone using a 256 mb card for AoC? You see i had lost hope and was gonna give up but i kept reading and i see that they made huge progress in the gameplay stability/lag/glitching etc etc. Ive even found a post or two about people saying the "caniplayit" site rejected them also but they were able to play. I just dont wanna go buy the game and after i install i get a pop-up saying "you cannot run this due to XXXX". Thanks for at least replying to me, much appreciated.

x300 will run it on low.

If you have AGP motherboard buy a HD3850 which is the best AGP card and costs 190$.

I have a HD3850 512MB and run the game on high 1280x960 with no stalls and smooth FPS above 30.

The ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 and the X300 are similar cards, they both fully support DX9 and do Shader Model 2.0 which is requred to play AoC, and I'm sure the XPRESS 200 is the better card out of the two. It should be able to render the game at lower settings, just a question of how much system RAM and the processor speed you have to make up for the lesser graphics card.
