Authentication key

I went and was able to grab the last copy of AoC from the only game shop within a hour and a half drive got home and while I am installing I go to the funcom website to start up my account and I get the message invalid authentication key. Has anyone else had this problem?  Do I have to wait till after it installs to set up my account? or should I just patiantly wait on there customer service to get back with me?  Any help would be appreciated.

    I am in an almost identical situation. Got the only copy left, spent the 3 hours installing and downloading patches, then when signing up for an account got a msg telling me they need to replace my authentication key.

    Has anyone got any news on this - I'm tired of waiting for a response!

    Echo - have you had a response from them yet?

    the security seals werent torn were they? Did you guys double check that?

    Do you mean covering the auth code? There wasn't one. The box was open because the clerk checked the contents. Surely with so many instances of this issue in different places there has to be another reason - like funcom messing things up.

    Let's hope anyway, I guess we'll find out...

    wait.....the clerk tore open the taped box and opened it to check the contents?

    They are not allowed to do that!  Ive been a store manager for Target for a few years. That is a big time NO NO. Thats like opening the DVDs to check the contents. They aren't allowed to do that.

    Did the clerk open the tape on the box to check the contents or did he check the contents because the box was already opened?

    If it's the latter, I think someone copied your code down man

    To be honest I can't remember, I don't think I took much notice. I do know that I didn't remove any plastic from either the box or game. You could be right. Surely though I'd get a different message other than that from funcom saying I have a aurthentication code from a batch that needs replacing..?

    We'll see how it pans out I guess.

    And I'll call the store on Monday.
