helms and hats

In all of the screenshots and movies ive seen, most of the characters are not wearing any form of head armor. Is head gear going to make a difference in your overall defense, or will it be unnecesary? Its also a factor in character creation, deciding what hair to pick, not knowing whether it will be visible or covered up all the time. If I am going to play an erudite I would want to slap something on that unsightly bald noggin.

It will be just like EQI i think, you can get invisble masks and helms to let people see your face which work exactly like visible ones in armor count and other possible enhancements. they just wanna show off the faces in the screens and i have seen plenty of helms in the vids.

I hope they have helm graphics that cover the whole head otherwise armor will look crappy with out helms IMO...Big dude in full plate armor with no helm... looks like he has a big body and small head =P

Yeah they do goto everquest2.com and click characters and goto archetypes and goto fighter and you will see a model in full plate with a full helm

Yeah I figured that they would have helms for armor show.... BTW that armor looks bad ass I cant wait =D

A /command has been placed in the game so that you can turn on/off helmet graphics, for the people that want to see their face after they have spent so much time on it

Hey that actually would come in handy if you get a crappy looking helm and rather see your face then the crappy helm =P

That is so damn cool! eq2 is going to be the best !!  So if you get ugly noob armor and a stupid looking helmet just /off Awesome lol

Hopefully eq2 will make it so that all the armors defence just doesn't add up, i'd like to see something like.. defense being evasion and your class/race effects it and your armor lwoers it as defense, and armor just protects a spot from damage. Like, you can take a hit to your head and you have no helm and your head is hurt really bad or your killed if its from a orc or something thats not like small and weak. I noticed that the dragon in the 3rd battle video desinergrated the flesh of the party leaving nothing but bones, maybe your body can get damaged.. not as far as your body being cut up.. but like cuts and stuff that are temporary. You could turn it on and off if your kid is playing :O

I think there is a pretty good chance of what your talking about being in the game, although I'm not sure if you will look wounded but after the characters got vaoprized that does seems hopeful. I heard from someone that they are planning so its like we can pick spots to target on mobs and mobs can do the same to us, so we might have to find weaknesses to beat something more easily and if you have super armor but you missing a helm or chest peoece i would assume your well gunna get screwed. I think in the in depth video the narrator mentioned something like this. It sounds awesome and gives the even more of a real sense.

A /helmet command is the coolest thing ive ever heard of. Awesome for those times when you have to wear ugly helms for vital stats.

I personally like the idea of having to wear the helmet. It makes people re-consider their looks for how their stats, although im one of those 'looks' people, so i'll go ahead and agree and say this command truly kicks ass!

Although, on the other hand, i do hope that some robes will have the head part. Although maybe you can just push it back so it lies on your back, like if you were wear a hoodie without the hood. Get what im saying? haha anyway!
