Vanguard running well?

I know you always get these "will my pc run it threads".  I know most people say to goto that website that says if you can run it.  I did this with AOC.  It said my pc would run AOC.  So I bought AOC and tried it.  I was so bummed that it wouldn't run well.  It kept jumping between 35fps down to 13fps.   The constant jerking between frame rates made me want to hurl.  So now I need a new game.  I'd like to know if anyone runs Vanguard at, or around these specs.  And does it run smooth.  I'm tired of feeling like I'm gonna throw up..lol.

AMD 4000....2.4 oc to 2.6

2gig of good ram - don't remember what exactly it was, but I remember I paid extra cuz MaximumPC said too....lol

8600gt - 512ram

fast ata hard drive

xp home - with no extra crap running in the background.  even dumped my wallpaper.

I know my proc is my bad spot.  But with the 939 chipset, its the best i'm gonna get till i ante up and buy all new MB and new parts.  (hopefully quad core).  But thats a ways off.

thank you for your help

I have an emachine, and I run VG. If anything more needs to be said:

    3400 AMD 2.2 GHZ

    2 gig ram

    512 8600 GT

Yes, they game hitches rarely, but, seriously, nothing to get worked up over. My biggest problem is getting close to cities can be frustrating. It can take a while for all the "stuff" to load. I run the game on medium setting, so I could run better performance if I wanted.

I would think you should be "ok" if you run it on lower settings but like the other poster said, you are going to hit a lot of lag near cities and probably in groups also.

Unfortunately VG eats up middle of the road systems.

I would go in expecting to get so-so preformance with that rig. You will probably have FPS issues here as well.

Buy the game on Ebay, you can pick it up for under 10 bucks.

AoC - you should have waited or read up on it, that game has very high system requirments. If you checked on "system requirments lab" remember, they check against advertised / published system specs. Some companies are pretty bad at publishing realistic specs. (VG is one of them also, this game will hardly run on what they claim to be the minimum system requirments)

Your specs seem fine you should be able to run it on medium.

    My specs:

    2 gigs of RAM

    GeForce 8500 GT 256 MB

    Intel pentium duo 2.8 GHZ

    Vista

and I can run it on medium pretty easily.

I could run VG on medium with an ancient rig.  With my new Alienware, I run it in 1600x1200 in ultra high settings and get over 100 fps outdoors and 30-60 indoors.

The BIGGEST difference seemed to be the Core duo processor.

The second biggest difference is how well the game has been optimized in the past several months.

I play it on maxed details. The average FPS is around 38 but depending on place it scales from 18-90 fps

    My rig:

    Athlon X2 6400+

    2GB RAM (667mhz)

    HD 3870 (@891/2600mhz)

    res 1280x1024

Here, I show this to everyone: it shows VG running on my cheap ass system, and in fact this was recorded before the game has improved even more:
