Never order a pre-order game from Amazon.com

So about 6 months ago, I pre-ordered the collector's edition of AOC from amazon.com. Originally, they said that they would deliver the box to me by the date of release. I also purchased the early access and have thankfully been able to play since the 17th...

Unfortunately, the estimated date of arrival for my pre-order box has been changing every day since the release of the game. On the 20th, they estimated it would arrive by the 21st. On the 21st, they estimated it would be the 22nd. Now today, the 20th, they sent me an email saying basically "whoops, sorry... looks like you won't get your pre-order now until the 27th." THE 27TH....

Now lets think about this... the pre-order reward from Amazon is a bow that is usable at level 25. After a few levels, I'm sure this item will be totally useless and I will find a better one. My character is already level 24 and I won't be receiving my box for about a week now. This means that my pre-order reward is total BS while others get items like mammoths that will be usable for good.

Sorry for the rant... but I feel totally screwed by both Amazon and Funcom at the moment. It is both companies faults for selling items they could not deliver.

    Interesting.  Whenever I pre-order from Amazon I have the game the day it's released.

    Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.

    I pre ordered from amazon, i tracked it, its in my town, just waiting on the damn UPS guy to show up at my door   ^_^

    Not sure what the problem is.  Day of launch I found several Collectors edition copies sitting on the shelf at my local Best Buy. 

    Ended up buying the regular versions though, a 40.00 surcharge per copy (I buy 2) seemed a bit steep for the benefits.

    Hope your copy arrives soon.... heck, the grace period on the  early access accounts will probably be shut down soon and wouldn't that stink

    I would have bought the game from Amazon, but I wanted the rhino mount. I think only Play.com offer it for us Brits. I nearly went to the local shops a couple of times, but kept putting it off. Anyway, Play shipped the game this morning, so it should be with me this Friday so I can patch it

    A little update for those of you who are interested...

    After several emails to Amazon complaining about the ever increasing ETA, I finally received an email stating that my item had been shipped. Apparently, if you complain enough, they will send you one of the ones in stock. Just an FYI...

    I ordered my copy from Amazon last night and got the email an hour ago saying it has been dispatched, although you don't want to hear that...

    I ordered the game from Amazon.ca on May20th.

    the game was 39$ (10$ off) and free shipping.

    I added a game card 29$  

    I had a coupon for 10$ off if you spent 40$ or more, so I got the game, plus 60 day game card for 62 bucks taxes and shipping included.

    However it has still not shipped, it says in stock, and estimating up to June 2nd delivery date which is bulls@#t

    similar thing happened to me but from gamestop they have said everyday since the 20th it will be here the next day.

    I pre-ordered from Amazon as well, and it kept getting delayed.

    I called them last night, and they basically told me they hadn't recieved their copies from the distributer yet, and that if I wanted I could cancel and re-order from a 3rd party through Amazon. I looked quickly as I had the webpage up, and 3rd parties were (naturaly) jacking the price up quite a bit.

    I told the lady on the phone, I have a better idea, how about if I just cancel my order, drive 15 minutes down the road, and pick one up from gamestop?
