Anyone eles have this problem?

I installed, and patched. Just purchased the game and a 60 day card, so around 90 bucks. Anyway i installed and patch this , and when i hit play it says Failed to initialize rendering subsystem... Thats it nothing eles happens it just closes. I hit run as admin and installed as Admin.. Anyone have this problem and was able to get it fixed or have any idea?

Sorry, didn't specify but...what graphics card do you have? States on that machine thus far aren't amazing, but it should be playable.

 

My initial thoughts are graphics card/driver issues.

This is your problem:

Card name: Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family

You have to buy a new video card. The stock one that came with your computer wont come close to running it.

Um....G33 isn't the video card, that's the Northbridge chipset.

 

Edit: Um....but GMA1300 IS an onboard intel vid card....if that's the only thing you've got, then yeah, you need a new card.

i have a Nvidia Geforce 5400, somthing like that downstairs in my older comp , ill put it in this comp. its a 256mb.. not sure if that helps but would the intel card actually stop the game from Opening at all? Failed to render subsystem.. what ever that means ive never seen that before on any game.

 No promises that will work either, that's an old card too. Basically the error message is your graphics card saying, "Holy crap, that's way too much for lil ole me to draw!" and then it bursts into flames.

I think the min required card is geforce 6600 (or around there). I'd suggest trying to find a card equal or better then that so you meet the requirements.

And after playing the game, I'D say bugger the min rec, and get yourself at LEAST a 8600GT, and one with 512 mb ram on it.

Nah, theres alot of people in the AOC official tech forums, All having the same trouble.  I mean there is 301 pages of game issues , and rendering subsystem is a major one, Shader 2.0 seems to  not work with intel cards older nvidia or ATI cards.

 

So i guess im gonna bite the bullet and get a newer graphic card.
