AoC will not kill WoW. They will be lucky to keep 500k subscribers. WAR has a shot to subscribe 2-3mil and depending on how well they do the PVP/RVR they will sustain them.
Aren't Mythic talking about localized Chinese language servers from launch for Taiwan and Hong Kong?
There are MMOs that take risks, but most of the time they fail because people don't want to play different games. They want to play the same stuff they have played over and over again.

They want to play good and fun games. Inovative games don't fail because of inovation, they fail because they are crap.
Doom, Dune (Warcraft), Sims and hopefuly Spore and Litle Big Planet prove you wrong.
Just came back from a under cover mission down in the Blizzard dungeon. They have 2000 gnome slaves making WoW2 in secret 24/7. When the subs drop to much they will release it! Damn gnomes so easy to enslave!

As for MMOs, only inovation so far was polish.
What?
"Doom, Dune (Warcraft), Sims and hopefuly Spore and Litle Big Planet prove you wrong."
Could you give a deeper view on this matter, because then I would really like to hear it!.
Conan will not appeal to so many players because of it's content, and War is more geared toward a pvp game. WoW is played by families, but fathers and sons, by women at my company of all things. It is a pastime. It will most likely have the most players for a very long time because it appeals to people who wouldn't normally play games or have the time to do so.
Actually, if you've paid closer attention to WAR's development, you'd realize that Mythic wants to make it a "hobby experience." That's pretty much their motto. The main thrust of WAR is pvp, to be sure. It has some very well done pve stuff as well. Very innovative. The Public Quest system will be popular, I predict. And EVERYTHING contributes to zone control. So you can be doing Public Quests, and you'll be contributing to the overall pvp war effort and the capture of zones. All this stuff has been made public on their website.
The cool thing about Mythic is that while other games (like AoC) are concentrating on the eye candy and impossible promises, Mythic is putting the focus squarely on what makes an mmorpg truly FUN: The gameplay mechanics.

When I was blindly following AoC long ago I almost totally dismissed Warhammer online, but what you've stated above is, I think, so often overlooked and at the end of the day it's what's most important.
So long as Mythic can deliver what they say they will deliver they are in danger of having a good game on their hands.

You claim that people discard inovation, when in fact the whole history of gaming proves you wrong. Every new genre of games has not only evolved gaming as a whole but expanded the market as well.
FPS games weren't here from the begining, but when a FPS was born it was huge. RTS games, the same story. Sims? If someone told you or me or any average gamer about Sims and how it would work and what it was about, you would go "WTH are you smoking boy, that will never work?!!", but it did and it's still kinda huge.
Spore and Litle Big Planet are equaly "strange", but could prove you wrong again. Is that better?
The only real diference between succes and failure is the quality, you can't have one great inovation implemented wrong in a crapy rest of the game. Noone likes that.

I would have to go with..........
(WAR + Aion) / AoC^2 = WoW's "American" playerbase downfall decrease.
STOP WHINING!

i think WAR alone is enough to cripple WoW.
AoC is a good game, but not a WoW killer to me
