I took some screenies of VG tonight and will post them side by side to AoC. So if you want , post the best night time picture you have  and try to make it 1440x900 ...
Mordria I am glad you are having a blast in the game, games are mean't to be enjoyed, but some of us, myself mostly have been playing and analysing games for a while and it is a hobby to critique the work that is produced. Just like a movie critic dioes with movies , just consider me the Ebert of mmo critics
funny ...you know what we call  people who like to "critique" games to the smallest detail? .... trolls ..... No game is perfect and always looking at the smallest detail making posts and threads is not constructive or helpfull to anybody

as far as im concerned, if you dont play the game or are not interested in playing th the game, you really have no reason to be posting here.

I couldnt get immersed with AoC , the trees are just constantly stabbing me in my eye...AoC sky map is like looking at a nothing and then you see the worst clouds ever made, I seriously would fire the sky mapping team cause they failed. I say this rinky dink little cloud that look like it was missing from the the game doom....
From a lot of games out there, AoC is the most envirnomerntally lacking game to be released, even VG has better trees and sky map, truthfully , VG's night time sky map is the best I've seen , ever....... AoC just fails at the over environment becuase of the xbox360's limitations.
You play mmorpgs because of the trees? The trees?!?

Man I cant think of details of less importance to me to make or break a game. I am sorry to say i cant even take your dissing AoC serious, because it dosent make any sens to me  The trees and the sky? whaa?

If there's one undisputable fact about AoC it's graphics are > to all other MMOs

Like i said, maybe it looks better in motion than it does in stills. So far those pics dont show anything that outshines others.

Last night in Khemi I found another gem. It was around noon time and my AoC colours seemed so dull and bland. I had to check if my monitor settings had been tampered with which it hadn't. I found out why when I looked to the skies. The weather was overcast! That's a great feature in my opinion.

Its the most linear zone in the game. You HAVE to follow the path and cannot stray far off.  This canyon (while the quests were nice, no doubt) was the worse for me in terms of a Massively Multiplayer perspective.
It reminded me exactly like the Guild Wars where you had to follow the path around with the Prince King.
    it's a VALLEY.

Besides, there are paths all around and through those mountains. You don't HAVE to use the paths, but have fun falling to your death.

Maybe you would enjoy playing in the desert more...the wide open spaces might make you feel less confined. Maybe the whole game should have been set in wide flat plains and desert so people wouldn't have the realistic limitations of TERRAIN to nit-pick about.

     hehe QFT

Isn't it great that all areas are not a square with flat surface?

Isn't also great that you cant walk up on a cliffside?

Why don't all games just lay out a flat texture on the ground and threw as many players possible into the area?

I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.

Made a quick movie to accompany you your links. It is not on the highest setting, but it is what thinks is good enough to have while playing.

nice pics, but i agree wrong areas to take pics of, and it pretty much looks the same as when on medium video settings

Here I am in high settings.  I turned everything to max and the game's fps got better for awhile.  Then it slowed down again and was no fun.  Also, shortly after this, the textures switched to low res automatically for some reason.  Anyway, beautiful while it lasted

hey have not seen this thread, really nice pictures thx a lot for the upload reminds me a lot on vanguard and the trees alone to  ww2online, they use the same speed tree engine (unfortuantely both games have sometimes stutters ingame due the high detailed speed tree engine, but guess that doesnt exist here cause of instances).

thx a lot  really great !

nice little vid there.  ya graphics look pretty amazing I must say.  actually the OP's pics really sucked lol.  but then the guy who posted the 2 with that lake and trees and the clouds... beautiful.  I could see this being a pretty sweet game if you have a decent machine and wait a few months for all the little problems to be fixed.  conan will come around.  people will still realize they are wasting there lives in a video game but it will come around ;  ]
