My prefs file has vanished?

Kay, when i first got the game i was advised to alter my prefs_2 file to change my shaders to 2.0 instead of 3.0 and the file existed (then) But now that i want to review that file and see what else is in there... it doesn't exist and i sure as hell didn't delete it. Any idea how i could get it back/rediscover it. I've tried windows searchs for the file and i have hidden folders enabled, but it just doesn't seem to want to show. It must exist surely for the game to function properly. Any ideas would be appreciated. Still can't log into official forums to see if they have an official fix. Cheers.

Yeah I use to live on my wow forums during patch days lol it sucks that they aren't up yet =/
