Sorry to hijack the thread, but it is related.. I was wondering about how effective the zboards are for this game.. has anyone used one for AoC? Would I actually benefit from a Zboard?
I think these ZBoards are pretty much just a gimmick, a Razer or Logitech would be a far greater investment.

That might work better. But then you're effectively doubling all keys necessary to perform the combos. In the original system you only needed to activate the original combo and then just the directional buttons. People will start learning the directional sequence by heart at some point, so the extra key for programming, both minimises the gain and makes you totally dependant on the hardware to play the game.

I understand what you're saying and I also believe that given enough time people will learn the sequences by heart. But as i understand it, what the macros offer is a way to do the combos while keeping full control over your character so you can focus on staying on top of a moving target and land your strikes. I don't think I have the hand-eye coordination i once had to pull off combos manually while maneuvering my character.
