Well, downloaded and patched up last night. Seems i have a level 18 Jedi with and not a real clue about what i am doing.
Anyone here on Lowca that can give some insight on what to start doing I am a bit lost at the moment. I did find an imperial terminal to run a few missions and figure out how to use my specials and all of that but no real direction on what to do yet.
Thanks.

all you do is quest hope you can find the legacy quest and go from there, its about the only way to lvl up once you get around lvl 30-40-50 you can do kashyyyk quests...then mustifar from there.

good luck finding people to play with not many people left playing this game........
My best suggestion would be to start the Legacy quest series. You can start it by heading to Mos Eisley and talking to the Twi'lek NPC standing outside against the building next to the Starport (on the way to the cantina). That'll take you through to around level 50-60 and from there you can alternate between terminal missions (you can do 10 a day for a bonus XP reward) and the Kashyyyk, Mustafar, Azure Cabal, Themepark & Heroic quest series to get you through to 90.
Did you play on Lowca precu. If so what was your name
I did play pre-cu and it is the same character Valdruk.
Hmm...that sounds a bit familiiar but it's been so long now. I was Terranah, Terrissa and Surelis.
Care to give a little background on your precu character. Just curious.
I was working on becoming a merchant with some left over skills and doctor and something else that I can't remember now I was at the time really enjoying selling power as it was a great income for me.
I had two toons I played concurrently. My last was a tkm, master fencer with some sword and my other was master image designer and master architect. My first toon was a master CH and I believe master gunfighter but I could be mistaken. I played around with her template quite a bit, at one point having a master gunfighter bounty hunter combo.
When I went back to Lowca it was deserted. Let me know how the population is. I ended up rolling a character on Bria and got to level 30 I think. Been a while since I logged in.
Post back here to let us know what's up and if you're having fun.
Well, before last night, the NPC cities we infact very barren. I have 4 friends on my friends list and that is only because I needed to ask questions to someone. Last night on the other hand I found 15 players in Mos Eisley and another 10 in Bestine with Entertainers in the Cantina's buffing. That was good to see I was beginning to really wonder.
A few of my items on the bazaar started to sell as well, mind you it is just loot but still good to see some of it start to sell before I branch out.
Space is pissing me off, but that is another issue all together

I presenly play on the Lowca server, mostly space now. I had 4 accounts pre-cu and have reduced to only one account (Station Pass). Last evening at the cantina in Mos Eisley there was not a souls in sight. The server is no longer as populated as it was. My suggestion to you is, that since you are only level 18, roll a new toon on a more populated server, Bria, Bloodfin or Chilastra. Otherwise you will have a hell of a time leveling at higher levels. Since you have been away for awhile, I would start on the Space station and learn your character. I however will keep my toon on Lowca until forced to leave, its my home, and I stil cruise around some of the old towns remembering better times.

I've been playing around with the new Meatlump themepark on TC and that tool has come in rather handy with certain parts of the quests where I couldn't do it alone. I was able to do a quick search by profession and sent a tell to someone in the list who came and helped me. Had the whole thing done in under 2mins. This was at a rather offpeak time too, around 6am EDT I believe.

I can appreciate that you're trying to help the OP Obraik but I would believe that most people play MMO's to be surrounded by other players. One shouldn't be forced to use a gouping tool to find others to play with.
I have agree with Freejack.
My suggestion to the OP was made with full knowledge of the new Group tools. I jump on Lowca every day. And every day I see at the most 20-30 folks. Most of those folks are in the PVP areas. If you want to enjoy the game, go to a populated server. The Devs can create all the Group tools they would like, but if there are no players on your server you will still be alone. I created a toon on another server but could not take the Low level quest to get very high. So, I stay on Lowca, hoping that my friends will return one day. If we want new folks to join, we should make suggestions to help, not have them log into an empty server in an MMO and expect that they have fun.

Just because you're surrounded by people doesn't mean you share a simillar interest in what you all want to do. Nor is spamming in spatial as effective - I personally hate doing that since I feel like I'm annoying people (thankfully I haven't needed to do that since Mustafar). I could go to Eisley if I wanted to run Exar Kun, but there's probably very few people around me there that are people I actually want to do it with. With the tool, you can narrow down the type of person you're looking for so you know that you all share a simillar interest/goal ingame. Even WoW, the most populated MMO, has a LFG tool, or so I'm told...
No, but you share a community.
There just isn't enough focus on that anymore IMO, and relying on a LFG tool is fine as a complimentory tool. Not as the only source of finding that "community".
just to comment on the grouping tool: AO used this too and doesnt really mean no1 is playing when u need a tool to find people. i dont know how stuff works in SWG but in AO u have to group at higher lvls to make any decent xp. most players are just chilling or selling in the big cities/city and are not to be found near any grinding spots, thats why there is a grouping tool.
sure there are some waiting at the spot but that can be boring if u are a gimp
MMOs currently playing: -
About to play: Lord of the Rings Online
Played: Anarchy Online (alltime favorite) and lots of f2p titles (honorable mentions: 9Dragons, Martial Heroes, Dekaron, Atlantica Online)
I started a new toon on Lowca not too long ago (well actually started leveling a guy I created in 2004).
I must say tho, if you are only level 18 Freejack is probably right, you should re-roll a toon on Bria or Bloodfin.
You can run the tutorial, and getting back up to level 18 should not take long at all.
If you stay on Lowca, I will gladly help out if I can, a level 44 medic. Hadrun is my name on that server. If you decide to re-roll on Bloodfin or Bria--- let me know your new toons name and I will try and help out there as well. The only real problem is I now live in Australia so I play at pretty whacked out times if you live in the States.

Yeppers. The more selective you can be with the type of person(s)/group(s) you are looking for with the upcoming LFG tool, the larger the populationbase should be to increase your chances to find what you're looking for. The biggest problem facing the OP and others on the ghost servers is that you actually need a speakable population for the LFG to be of any use. It will not repopulate the dead/dying servers.
So, the LFG tool is fine for moderately to well populated servers. The OP would do very well by rerolling on Bria, Bloodfin and Chimaera (EU) which represent the most populated servers. As the game will continue to suffer from the low population problems, those servers would hold-up the best IMHO. If the OP wants a little more moderate population numbers, then Ahazi, Starsider and Chilastra would be good choices.
The real problem is that even the so-called "populated" servers are ghost towns. 50 people standing around Mos Eisley and another 25 in Rustess doesn't constitute a healthy population. I'm talking about Bloodfin, because that is the one I played on last month.
Most of the times I logged on Bloodfin had the highest population according to the server stats.
There isn't going to be an influx of new players to a game this old, this broken, this despised, and with such a small resource allocation. It isn't going to happen. Essentially the LFG Tool is simply a reward for the current players who want to find other people to play with.
It should make the game somewhat more enjoyable for them. I think it's a good idea even considering it won't help the actual populations.
