Not sure why the people who enjoy the game should care about the haters proclaiming the fold of Funcom. Not sure why this needed it's own thread, I think there is another one running with the same topic.

I don't think anyone here who post these stock prices know what they talk about!

Stocks go up and down, just like the rest of the market. Before a huge release like AoC is for Funcom there is bound to be speculation higher prices, with a dive after a launch following.

It happens also with quarterly reports.

To know the effect of AoC on the FC stocks you will have to wait for the next quarterly report. If subscriptions continue to grow or they can retain all is good. But if the 400.000 starts to dramatically drop then the stock will plummet.

Right now there is no business reason for the stock to rise or fall except speculation and unfounded expectations.

But speculation and belief are the main small-event driving force of the market.

I don't think you understood me. I enjoyed my two years in AO and the game back then had only two servers. The game doesn't need to be a huge financial success as long as people are having fun in it.

I don't hear much news about Matrix Online for example, but I'm pretty sure that the people who play it, thourougly enjoy themselves.

Xas, the very thing you are saying is a point missed by funcom, that's our main problem here.

Yea but investors in this case are probably more concerned with large holistic perspectives, number of games sold, than they are with the fact that certain classes are broken or there are many bugs..

    Are you shure?

The selfproclaimed stockmarket experts here are threatening to bring up classbalance on the next corporate meeting.

I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.

All I know is that Funcom shares sold for under 20kr a share some months ago. Now they're between 40-50kr. That's a fact.
