Frame Rate constancy

My issue is with frame rate constancy; Going for 40 FPS to 15 FPS is very frustrating. I have a P4 3.2 Pentium D, 3 gig ram, 7900gtx with 512meg running on Low 1680x1050. I am considering upgrading my video car to 8800GTx; I don’t understand how this game is going to run well on a console.

dude your computer is not very good. get a core2duo, and a 8000 or 9000 series card, and not the budget ones for under 100$, and you will play this game the way its meant to be run.
You underestimate the power of console and the ability to optimize for one piece of hardware versus the myriad different combinations of pc.
