Just a normal guy, and I'm going to try DDO

I've never played D&D before.. never was interested in it, couldn't stand watching 5 minutes of the movie.

However the fiance' is out of town tonight, and I'll be bored after my workout so I started downloading D&D and will install it when I get home.

Of course I've played many other MMOs but this isn't one of them.. will this game keep my interest at all?

Is there anything I should know up front before playing?

DDO isnt easy to play witout group. Or at least it was like this a year ago, maybe they have made it easier to solo now.

DDO is actually a good game. I do have issues with it such as some of the art design. But when in a group and experiencing the more group oriented quests, you see where it shines.

There are solo quests and more to the point, quests that you can choose on solo mode. However, the game is more group oriented.

well, it is possible to solo. And to do it on several harder quest lvls. Each quest has several different lvls, some have "solo".

But there are quests that I just don't see being done solo. Still, try it out, it can't hurt and is kind of fun. Nice to do quests where the completion of the quest goal gives you the xp. So it doesn't matter how many mobs you have to kill.

I am on my second day of the free trial. I played beta and a bit after release. I must say the game is so much better, polished, and has almost doubled in content since the old days. Also the game is very solo friendly now almost to the point of being tooo easy on solo mode. At least in the first starting area of the city,i've been told that it gets a lot harder later. Also this game now has the best system I have ever seen for finding a group it is almost fool proof!!! Most dungeons have several difficulty settings that can be unlocked after you complete so if you repeat the quest as most can be repeated, playing on the next harder setting makes the dungeon way different and im not talkin just harder mobs. I think anyone brave enough to try it now will be very pleasantly surprised. I know i was!!! Sarlona is the best server!!!

    ENJOY!

Oh look me up on Sarlona name "Psyrix"  Cleric , Dwarf!  Mention mmorpg cause I ain't gonna be here I now reside on Xen'drik!!!  Stormreach City!
