7 pages saying it has pretty graphics and good sound. Not a word on the bugs, half finished broken features and lack of CS. I am impressed. THey should have just posted a couple of screens and a sound clip or two and said "here is our review".
Probably one of the most generous "professional" reviews so far.
I think that, while nailing the good things of the game, reviews like these don't help at all. I want the game to become polished and funnier than now, I don't want it to stay like this labeling it as a niche title just as a poor excuse.

IGN has a first-impressions article now too and they dont really talk about graphics and sounds but more on gameplay.
lol...a "professional" review. If a person gets paid to review a product by the company selling the product (via advertising), it is assumed the review is going to read more like an advertisement. Its like that on every free site, including this one.
Save that, so far, I have enjoyed the game, once I was actually able to get the patcher to work (I only had to format my computer). I've no commodore 64 (I wish I did still own one, though). my system is 2 dual-core AMD opterons at 2.66mhx each core, 4 cores total (don't really help with AoC) 4 gigs or rams, and 2 nvidia 7900 GTXs in SLI. It is one of my PCs I use to render CG art.
I have to run AoC on Medium settings, graphically speaking..lol...oh well.

Yea...I was kinda shocked to read their rating considering that the game needs some work yet. Otherwise I think they pretty much nailed it.

Wasn't what he said basically what you said?
