Gamepad mechanics

Hi AoC players,

I'd like to play AoC by gamepad. I don't want to use 3rd party sotware for the gamepad control. I heard that AoC supports gamepad by itself. Im asking the players who use the gamepad :

how much control do u actually have?

my cousin for example wants to know about looting by gamepad controls.

Can you "take all" loot with the gamepad or is the use of mouse mandatory?

the combat is fully controllable by gamepad, but what about the rest?

we already played FF11 which was playable fully by a gamepad except chatting ^^

Has anyone got a gamepad to work with this game?  I know they took the ability out, I am just curious if anyone is using one or figured out a way to use one.  The way the game is designed, a gamepad would make it godmode if done right.

I couldn't get my xbox controller to work properly in AoC, so I used 3rd party software (Pinnacle Game Profiler. After that you just map your keypad buttons to keyboard strokes and you are set. I have given it a go and playing melee classes got much more fun and intuitive when using gamepad. Casters are doable too, but long range targeting is a tad easier with the mouse.
