I would hate to see you go. There will always be nay-sayers regardless if it's a good game or not. Each and every person has a horse in the race, and if it competes with their horse, the competition is crap regardless if it's the truth or not.

People don't want to see their favorite mmo populations die, and they will say anything to try to change at least one persons mind.  There have been times that I have wanted to quit, but I can't keep myself from coming here and laughing at some of this entertainment.  It's freedom of speech at it's best my friend, embrace it, and enjoy it.

This is a game forum eh.  And people feel as passionately about their mmo's as sports nuts do about their games.  You have people who will trash a game, people who will hype it, and some level headed folks who try to be the voice of reason.

Personally I am beginning to think the terms fanboi and hater are being a little over used lately.  Seems like everyone who posts something positive is labeled a fanboi and everyone who posts something critical is called a hater...or a troll.

We're all just a bunch of opinionated folks is what it boils down too, and if you are too sensitive to be exposed to passionate debate you should take a break from it.  Just go play the game and have fun.

Exactly, and thus from overuse those terms have no significance at all anymore, and people who still use them only make themselves look bad.

You are very wrong.  If both are used in a right manner then there is no reason not to use it.

Fanboi: Someone that w/out lissening to facts and reasoning will out right tell someone they are full of it and call you a troll or hater if you point out problems with their golden game.

Troll: Someone who bashes a game not knowing anything about it.  Or because they are a Fanboi to another game.

If used in the right context it is 100% significant because it explains why a person is replying in a sertin fashion.

Those that use both terms wrong are the ones that look bad.

As I've said many times recently, you either learn to ignore or debate here at MMORPG.com. Every new release has been met with the same amount of hate and discontent. Give it some time, no need to be so dramatic.

i agree with all your points, especially the one about moderators. When you read these forums daily (this section specific) for a long time its really easy to pick out the trolls who post the same thing on threads not even relevant (cough Zorndorf) for one. People like that need a healthy slap in the face.

I used to have a certain amount of respect for you Avery, but it seems recently that you can no longer post without including a plethora of expletives.

You've lost a lot of credibility in my eyes.

No, it's a public forum for debate and discussion. And I know how you feel.

Some people are annoying or immature and instead of friendly debate would rather make personal attacks (the lowest form of debate).

But if you post something interesting or thought provoking you will get interesting and thought provoking responses in return.

Sure there will be a lot of stupid and annoying crap in between but just laugh and move on to the next post (it's funny!).

I understand where you are coming from. It's just that there is no better place to discuss on-line worlds, their history, development and possible future.

Hope to see you back one day.

Just like you I am getting tired of reading the pros and cons and the silly reviews many people state about the game of AoC. However, what makes me astonished is the amount of garbage both sides state about the game. Do not tell me the game is awesome with its content and story line if you have not leveled past 50 (thats were you get spell weaving etc.) Also, in contrast, do not tell me that the game is horrible because you got to level 30-40 and you ran out of quest, ran into some bugs, and other issues that this game has. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that please reference your level in the game when your reviewing or giving your opinion about the game so readers like myself can have a grasp at the amount of content you've tried and completed.

I did not like AoC due to "copying/instances/zones" whatever you want to call it so I left. I am/was level 50 and you cannot convince me that this is a MMORPG, but rather an RPG with online capabilities.

I agree with you templarga. Years ago these forums were actually a pretty valid source of information on games but now they are full of more than enough bs to start your own fertilizer company.  I use to recommend this site to people. Not any more.

You do realize there is violence in every MMORPG right?

You kill things with blades, fire, hammers, you "kill" another player, you "die" in violent ways.

Take a look in the description of every skill, every spell in any MMORPG.

An intelligent and mature person should notice violence is present in every mmrpg and in almost all games.

An intelligent person should not be fooled by colors or a cute art style when the violence is there.

You do realize EQ universe is a violent and decadent universe, right? hmmm, maybe not.

I agree -- The OP seems to be a very mature and intelligent person, I hate to see him go and many others who probably dont even bother to post before they leave this community. If the forums (for any game) are flooted with lies and hateposts this place is going to hell.

    Just my 2 cent.

Wow and the trolls had to break in and ruin a decent thread with more of their self important vitrol, or sorry is that just judgemental prudishment? Aren't there some books you should be burning right now, because havens know you are rightous!

I just want to say sorry to see a rational poster go.

I've never been able to stand more than a few months posting myself before breaking.  You lasting 4 years on one board is more than any length I'll be posting in one set time frame.

I don't think opposing people can really appreciate what the Witcher does for RPGs. (least if in opposition to that game if not anything else)

There is an opportunity here to live a different story.  A world that is not as politcally correct.  A low fantasy instead of the generic high fantasy. (High fantasy is good but sometimes you want a switch)

One question I want to ask is, "Where are the people that could still like a previous game while pointing out the pros and cons but just decided to move on or stay for whatever reason?"  (Least appreciate a part of the game) These people have just weighed the pros and cons.

    Good luck to you too.
