ok, so I was sitting on the couch bored out of my skull when Pokemon the movie comes on.. (the first one I think)... so after they do all these battles and crap all the good pokemon get in to this giant brawl, against there evil clones, and as this battle wages some women in the cartoon says "This is wrong, pokemon weren't meant to fight, not like this!"
I could be heard shouting from across the room... "WHAT THE F**K IS WRONG WITH YOU, YOU STUPID B***H!, YOU CATCH THE DAMN THINGS, FORCE THEM TO LIVE IN PLASTIC GERBIL BALLS AND PIT THEM IN INHUMANE COCK FIGHTS, AND THIS BOTHERS YOU???"...
Thats when two things occured to me... (1) I hope kids don't start hosting dogs fights based on the wonderful things they learn in pokemon.. and (2) Why the F**K am I whatching Pokemon????

I love cartoons
of course I wanted to make them forever.. then I did an internship at disney.... and now I don't want to make cartoons.. But I still love them. Some have unique styles and stories that make them really appealing... Unlike bayblade, Yughio and the lot that are essentially 30min commercials... Thats brilliant though, look how well it brainwashes the kids into buying that garbage... I fell a sleep in front of the tv 3 days in a row at one point always woke up to yughioh... on that third ep they were still on the same card battle/fight whatever it is they do... thats about 60mins (without commecials) of bad voice acting doing this...
you use blahsour for 500pt attack AHA! ... but I set up a trap card that swollows your blabasur and gives me a free attack AHA!... but my rabid monkey card was hiding in a tree AHA!... but I had a sniper monkey waiting for your rabid monkey to move AHA!... well my dad can beat up your dad AHA!
I thought I had an anurism... But if u want a great cartoon, Cowboy bebop. Naruto is also great even though in the first episode the establish about every cliche you could imagine in a comic hero story..

In Japan, Pokemon is a lot more gruesom. They had to tone it down before they brought it to America. We wouldn't allow it. Anyway, in the Japanese version, the pokemon fight to the death and there is blood and guts all over the place. It was a big craze even when they had all that gory stuff goin on. I used to watch Pokemon when I was 12 years old. It used to play at 6:30 in the morning and I would wake up everyday! Now that I think about it, it was rediculous. Hehe, but it was good for it's time.
P.S. I Loved Samurai Jack! It was great, it always had a good message too. It was great. I watch Inuyasha now. I never see Samurai Jack on anymore. I also like Dexter's Lab sometimes. If this post does't make sence, it's because it's 3:18 in the morning and I'm freaken tired and i'm going to bed! Right now! Right now! Right..... NOW! NOW! (( Hehe sounds like I'm guessing for the light to turn green or something! ))

OMG, a pokemon mmorpg would totally rule the world, tremble SOE and blizzard, compared to pokemon you are merely afterthoughts in the gaming industry...

First, to the person that claimed that cartoons are boring unless you are 10 years old. Good for you, go back to your precious reality TV and sitcoms.
Second, I LOVE CARTOONS. Particularly japanese ones, regardless of what any of you think. All the anime isnt like Pokemon and YuGiOh. If you stay up past 11 at night (EST) theres a ton of awesome, mature anime on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. Inuyasha, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Lupin. It's all good. I started watching some Naruto (not on TV in the US) and it's pretty damn good. I like other cartoons like the Simpsons, Family Guy and Futurama too.
Staying on topic, Pokemon isnt really too bad. I wouldnt watch it a lot or else I'd get a headache from all the luvy-duvy friendship crap.

Samurai Jack doesn't have alot of speech, the 2 main characters are voiced by Phil Lamar as Samurai Jack (MadTV), and Mako as Haku (Tons of movies). And although Samurai Jack has some speech most of it's story tellying is done by visual concepts and most of it's mood is set by creative directing. Thats what makes the show so unique.
As for your def of real anime... Astroboy was the very first anime, made in 1963. And contained no sex, violence or drugs... And to be honest I don't mind sexual humor in anime (as in Vandread or Tenchi) but hate the overuse of it. Good story, and character development are paramount in any cartoon be it Japanese or American. I'm a HUGE anime fan, been whatching it and loving it since I was a kid. Started with G-Force the Robotech and eventually Dragon Warrior (which they never made a season 2 for the evil bastards!). As for violence in anime? I love action movies and action toons, and I don't hate anime that use exagerated violence (face melting, skull crushing, a fingure jab and someones torso explodes) I'm not a huge fan of it. I'd much rather see a well animated, well choreographed fight scene (Cowboy Bebop, Naruto).
FUN FACT: Astroboy The original Manga & Anime's style of art was actually created as an homage to the disney style or art.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves Official Release Date: November 21, 1937. Because Osamu Tezuka (the creator of Astro boy) Came to the US and he studied the techniques used in disney movies and cartoons... which include the round head and huge eyes which he then took back to Japan and became the legend he is....
So the first Anime was Snow White.. And that had NO sex... it did have drugs and violence tho'... LOL

hehe, Well I'm not a huge Samurai Jack fan, I just have a lot of respect for it, and definantly consider it in the upper tier for overall quality. And I don't go out of my way to whatch it, but if I'm flipping through and hit it, I always stop to whatch..
