WHATCHA THINK?
Comments
it will not play AOC lag free if that's what you're asking.
What will?
it will run AOC fine
(and lag free)
Thanks
OP please don't buy into the hype and spend cash on that rig. You are going to be disapointed. Play the game on what you've got. If you like it get that rig.
It will kick it and run on high spec and then some. I run on high spec and my rig is not as good as that. I still get 30 - 40fps. I so need to update now!
Nice choice to on the mobo etc. I like it a lot.
I needed to upgrade anyway.
Actually I bet it runs pretty damn smooth that is better then what I have and I get awesome performance in game I can play on high with about 50 fps and my latency is about 80 in game. It doesn't really stutter in game even in a group when I am in a instance alone I get around 130 fps. I have the same graphics card and was very pleased.
Why would you buy a 5000$ computer and get a 17 inch moniter? Im guessing your a lawyer with wayyyyyyy too much cash, who feels that he has to have the most expensive items around to look good to his golf buddies.
hahahah, no .... in 37 and have paid my dues in life is all. I have a 22" lcd monitor , the one listed is for my kids when they inherit the computer im typing on now.
good choice sir but you might want to wait till Nvidia/ATI launches their next gen card, then you'll either get that 9800 cheaper or just buy one of the new gen cards.
But with that setup you'll be watching at some gorgeous eye candy while slaughtering people in AoC. Your first visit to SotBS with that rig will be one of a kind. Sometimes i wonder how come Sanctum entrance area is so epic and extreme yet it's just a lvl 40 dungeon....
But anyway if you can, wait a little and get the new monster GFX cards, so you'll be more than sure to enjoy DX10.
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.
yes i cant wait for the 4870 and 4870x2
From what I understand the new gforce could take a bit to get here. I only have a 7300gt atm so I had to upgrade on this new cpu...but I think what im getting will support whatever comes out for a little while anyway.
Your jealous because he worked hard for that money so you insult him...
Doesn't get any lower than that!

Turn shader to 2,0, disable 3d Ambient models and you'd see that your FPS rose by 15-20
Neat site...hmmm lemme see if ti works:

Eh..im not exactly a tech wiz.
this is a freaking monster man...but if you really care upgrade your graphics card to the ATI 4870 it will be out in june 23rd-
thats the 4850. the 4870 comes out after that
EDIT:I WAS WRONG
To the OP...this is obvious troll. That pc will run fine n will prolly keep you running for a few years b4 needing an upgrade. My PC is not nearly what the listed one is n I run on all high settings all the time with no lag.
As far as your performance. I have nearly the same system. Asus Striker Extreme, 8 gigs of DDR2, Core 2 Duo 2.66 OC'd at 3.2ghz (It's certainly no extreme), 150g Raptor X HDD, X-fi XtremeGamer, 900W ABS PSU, and a OC'd 9800 GTX running at 800/2200/1200. I get max settings.. depending on where you are.. 40-50ish frames outside, 40-60ish in instances, 20-30ish in cities and very video intensive areas. I would imagine that you would get the same. I am running mine on Vista 64 however, so if you're running XP, you may experience slightly better framerates.
Oh, I run those settings on a 1920x1200 resolution, I have a 24 inch monitor. Since you said you have a 22", I'm betting you will run the game on 1600x1200 or something similar. So you'll probably get a solid 6-8 FPS increase from my performance.
You're wasting money on the QX series CPU if you're not thinking of overclocking, and judging from how you're asking us this in a AoC forum, well, chances are you're not overclocking it.
You'll save yourself a lot of money just getting a Q6600 or Q9450 or something near there.

may i ask what system you are running AoC on?
Get a Samsung 24" to 27" widescreen monitor.
You won't regret it.
Very nice. Enjoy setting everything to High.
And it should be lag free. Hell, my POS old computer runs the game lag free unless something wacky goes on with my connection, so your monster should scream.
I make spreadsheets at work - I don't want to make them for the games I play.
