A complete open PvP land - even for PVE servers PvP is on.

So true as well though.... haven't seen the tank where multiple people can be on it and use the turrets ect. but the air combat looked funny enough in the preview, i'm kinda nervous what will happen when they make a full preview of the full combat zone with the tanks and the fact, people can transport others on their mounts (GREAT idea btw!).
I kinda know i'll be back playing WoW, when WotLK comes out. Blizzard knows how to make things fun, even if you think it's a grind, which in it self is strange.

Again, and time will prove me correct, WoW combat is amateur and cartoony. Siege warfare in the game will also be amateur and cartoony (do you, as a guild, own the city you are defending? Is there any real consequence for losing the city? Tanks? Really? Come on. Hey, I have an idea, why don't they add a P51 Mustang! Now that would be AWESOME!) PvP in WoW will fall into one of two categories:
1) The BG, where nothing matters, everything resets, and everyone else in the BG won't follow directions no matter what name you call their mother.
2) Open Area where things can be destroyed (and slowly grow back so the next person behind you can have the same experience), where people are only there while leveling (or ganking) because the rewards are pretty useless compared to anything that will come out of the Arena or even honor gear, for that matter (gear bought with honor), especially since BG's give bonus honor, and areas, do not. When was the last time they have Strangle Thorn Vale weekend?
Ownership makes all the difference. I played shadowbane when it first game out, knocking down someones hards work with a sludge hammer changes everything. Guilds own these cities, guilds make these cities, there are bonuses associated with the cities, you control resources with these cities. When someone comes to take that away, its personal, WoW will never have anything on that scale. The only other game out there where combat becomes this personal would be Eve.

If you however had read just a little of Robert E. Howards litterature you would know that the Hyborean world is sexist, naked, violent, pulp and exaggerated. Funcom could of course make a Disneyfied Hyborean world, but it wouldn't be the Age of Conan. It wouldn't be true to it's lore and most important it would be just like any other fantasy MMO out there. I know. I've read all of REH short stories and most of the comics.

Offcourse Funcom have proudly used them in their marketing of the game and offcourse in an immature way. Most recently I read a statement from the company where they apologized for making some of the breasts smaller in-game, and that this would be resolved soon.."You never forget your first decapitation" are other familiar words that clinge pretty closely to AoC campaigns..I and quite a lot of folks with me - cringe pretty heavily to such stupid and, yes, childish a way to market a game thats said to be meant for a mature crowd. everquest 2 sucks balls, the zone are super small, empty, you can see all of your objectives in the first 20 levels in one area, hated it.
