Verdict: Return Later to the Game

So the past couple of days I have just sat at my desk, literally tearing my brains out due to boredom. I move my cursor over to the AoC icon, about to click, but the memories of disappointment linger, so I end up wasting time srufing the web or playing some fps.  So I have come to a verdict, I have already froze my account and decided to maybe come back to AoC later, when things settle down.  I hope funcom can seriously make some improvements and listen to the players' concerns.

Im not advocating this to anybody, this is what I am going to do.

To AoC,

Hope to see you soon (maybe)

I am giving AOC a break right now as well, the game is alot of fun, but I will wait untill the majority of the content is patched.  I am however going to hop on over to EQ and re-learn how to play the game, since they have announced 2 months free access to EQ and EQ2 trial and normal accounts.  Pretty sweet deal.

This is what myself and many other testers recommended people do with this release.  The game was rushed to market to try and capitalize on people making the initial purchase.  We were shouted down by the fanbois as haters or having some sort of deep seeded desire to see the game fail.

The truth of the matter is that the game is incomplete, buggy, has a great deal of work still left to be done to get it to a releasable state and now the true state of the game is being found out by people.  Too bad that many people actually paid Funcom, in essence rewarding them, for a half completed project.  Perhaps next time folks will actually listen when testers come to tell them the actual state of the game.

Hopefully we do not have to wait long:

Funcom already have planned out some upgrades in the quest for late 30s and 50+ that were missing. Also remaking some instances. I dont know what level you got to, but this information on "what to come" made me wanna play even more. I am however a slow leveler so I have not yet been grinding, and stuff have mostly been patched right before I got to that content.

Also the verdict is good; wait a couple of month if you cant stand bugs and lacking content on some parts.

For me; I am having great fun and I dont mind bugs or some lacking content. The combat system and change of phase of other mmorpgs is great(for me)

I believe that takeing a small break from AoC is a much smarter play than screaming "I quit!" and canceling in the heat of the moment. Fact is this is exactly how I experienced WoW when it first came out and players were lagging into lava trenches in Ironforge. A lot of my friends quit WoW only to return later. I expect the same issues will come about with WAR soon after its release

    Take a break,

    Cool off,

Give it time, it will come around and be a solid game

I would be doing this, but I have no other games to play or really interest me... I'm too lazy to care for the lack of content or anything like that. But freezing the account sounds like a good plan if you don't mind waiting. Not saying I'm impatient, but this game is fun nonetheless for me, and chopping of a head or two is rare in other mainstream games, aside from D2.
