I'm going to be building a PC for making music with Reason 4.0 mainly. I'm wondering what components would make the most difference for sound quality and speed in recognizing midi input. Obviously the sound card would be important, but there's got to be something else that I'm overlooking that would help with latency and things of that nature.
A musician's PC would have to run in real-time and any lagging behind (even .02 seconds) would be very noticable. Just wondering if anyone out there has built computers for making music that can recommend or suggest at least what components are most important.
Thanks
