Over the last few days, the cesspit that is these forums has been clogged with so much nerd rage and bullshit its just astounded me, all over a $50 game... When my house got robbed and a shit load of my things stolen, I got over it in like a couple of days. Flaming on forums is just a pass time for losers, seriously if you dont like it get over it, no need to go on a crusade and spam all the forums cos the game isnt perfect. I dont know what you guys expected... so its missing some features... end of the world? No! Its still fun, possibly more fun then any other MMO (it is for me), and unfortunately it is a bit buggy, and unpolished, but you cant justify giving funcom and their fans this much slag... even if you dont like it at all... god. This happens with every game, even WoW had squillions of nerds saying it was doomed, you say all this stuff and thousands of like minded forum trolls will back you up, but we'll see how this game pans out and if its a success I hope you learn your lessons and stfu. Or is it the other way round? Maybe I need to see the light and realise forums are just for the kiddies who cant afford the game or are evil fanbois of other games... sigh.

Yea aoc is far from perfect but still fun and nobody knows what the future brings. And 'lol' to the people who think the upcoming mmo's won't have the same problems as aoc/tr and co.
King Conan of Funcom-boria offered us peasants something that I had not seen in other games, a $10 trial of the game without having to purchase it. Many little kids scrapped together a few soda bottle returns and bought the trial box but then didn't then have enough money to purchase the retail game. Two problems happen with low income MMOers - #1 their computers are garbage and they lack the resources to buy modern computer toy equipment and #2 an extra $50 box price or $15 subscription is many hours worth of their miserable job time... What happens when a kid can't afford to subscribe to two toys at the same time? They have to make a choice. People were originally drawn to WoW because it could be run on the computing power of my bread maker. Those are exactly the people that complain about the cost of toys. Now what happens when that person must chose, ad remember, that person is so ego-linked to their old, outdated MMO that they can't unsubscribe... they go through a psychological justification! They will convince themselves that the item that they cannot afford is really something they don't want anyhow. But they know that they are lying to themselves. This conflict causes resentment, resentment causes anger, anger causes them to come here and attack the thing that is making them feel small, insignificant and poor. The low-income bracket MMOers have come and gone from AoC. And, if I am not mistaken, aren't the official AoC forum is reserved for subscribers? Voila! Their self-hatred forces them to come to the free gaming forum and tell you how much fun you aren't having... Pathetic little creatures.

I come to recognize the mmorpg community the epicenter of what is hot and what is not. The posters here are more passionate about mmo's then any other forums community. Sometimes they go overboard, like myself hehe, but that is just to get the point accross that the game is not quality and is no where a revolution, evolution , it is not even de-evolution , It was a peice of software that fails real mmorpg player. We can go back into previous games and do a lot of the same "real" mmo-esqu things in other games, and those other games do it better. LotrO is the best story and lore driven mmo to date. Vanguard is the best Open World game to date, Shadowbane is still the best pvp full loot game to date. Out of just those 3 games, AoC is inferior in every way., and there are hundreds of mmo's out , and there is absolutely nothing in AoC that stands out.
Why dont you stop bashing other games and go back to LotRO seriously come on, that game is a good game to be fair but it is also one of the most BORING games out there imho i just couldnt get drawn into it and i doubt people think of vanguard as the best open world game, it may be your opinion but your opinion doesnt make it better than AoC and to my opinion AoC is way better than LotR because i rather have a fun interesting game that is young and filled with bugs to a game that has reached maturity but is still somehow boring like hell, again my opinion but you dont see me posting it in the LotR forums unlike you

hehe, I was a child of hard working parents i.e. they attained post graduate degrees and worked in jobs that can only be done by a very tiny minority of the population... if that is what it takes to be paid more per hour than those that attain next to no additional education and do a job that can be performed by almost everybody, hence are then compensated at that level... yep I guess I was a child of wealth.

Financial situation? I'm well off, kid. As a matter of fact, I could easily have a good computer if I wanted to. I choose NOT to because throwing $1000 out the window every 2-years is jsut not worth it unless all you do is use computers. I have OTHER hobbies. Age of Conan will be only able to keep those who have been spoiled with computer hardware and have nothing better to do. That's THEIR fault. THEY chose to only be able to support 2% of the gaming population. They chose to put huge tits in their game so only mature adults can play it. Enjoy your small community, welcome Vanguard #2 and it's spoiled teenagers.

I think this post proves the OP's point. Ya know I would launch into a tirade breaking down a poster like this, but Ive learned that some people on these forums really arent worth arguing with. MMORPG.com is a great site, it has tons of people, and coming with tons of people, you get all sorts of ideas, thoughts, opinions and attitudes. A snobbish attitude like the one here in this post is just an example. This post, disgusting as it is, pretty much proves my point.
You pretty much have to take alot of posts with a grain of salt and at least attempt to engage in some sort of intelligent conversation with people who are not susecptible to nerd rage.
But yes, I wholeheartedly agree with you that this forum has really degenerated as the game's launched. I used to prowl AOC's forums before launch and they looked nothing like this. Its to be expected really. You get all sorts of people on these forums.
