You sure its just the ram that you changed? usually if the ram is bad either computer refuses to boot or even if it manages to boot. You get errors while playing games or performing other tasks. Just replace the ram and see if pc works fine.

Would help knowing the parts you're using, which brand of RAM did you buy and model? I need specs, also, I need to know your mother board brand. Does your computer work if you unplug the new RAM?

If you could add a picture of the instalation also would be great, since we would know for sure what's happening there.

    Ok some of the possibilities:

    - Bad ram (i doubt you did anything to protect the ram against static electricity when you put it in..)

    - The common practice is to use the same types of memory mixing different types (especially if the speeds differ) can cause problems.

    Things to try,

    - remove the new ram and check if it works again

    - remove the old ram and place the new ram only see if it works

    - If the above two don't work try the new ram in an other pc.

    - don't forget to check your mobo manual for the maximum supported ram.

Have you tried going in safe mode?  (you hit F8 a lot while booting up)

IMO you probably need to reseat the ram in its slot cause it probably wasnt put in properly.
