The Siege?

As i sit here, USA plays The Siege, starring Denzel Washington.  It's from the late '90's I think.  I'm getting chills here.  I see many parallels to today, actually.  I keep thinking, what if our situation degenerated into this?  That would suck.  I mean REALLY suck.  Denzel just posed an interesting question (i'll paraphrase) -

What if what they (the terrorists) really want is for us to put soldiers on the street, have American's looking over their shoulders, shred the Bill of Rights and stomp on the constitution?  If you do this, they win.

He goes on to plead w/ the general not to torture the prisoner, which the general ignores.

The ending's gonna be good though. I've seen it before, and all is set right in the end.  *prays for similar real life outcome*imageimageimage

I'm just musing here, not really asking a question.  If u know the Siege, or have some thoughts, come muse w/me.image

What if? Not what if. They already have. or will soon. I mean they've already annihilated the constitution. They've broken multiple clauses/articles within the constitution. They've twisted multiple ammendments to their own whims, or just completely breaking them altogether.

And I have a strong feeling within the next 1-2 years martial law will be declared.

Even better than The Siege is The Grid on USA Mon. night. So far it's been pretty good. A little Tom Clancy-ish, but I can live with it.

    -------
I was never what you wanted, I could never never please.
I swallowed all our sorrow in the midst of my disease.
All my fortunes, all my gains, all the battles I have won...
Now collapsing like the rain, I stand alone, your only son...

Take some solace in these words, take notice of this place.
Hollow whispers that they are, like the wind upon my face.
Sing softly in my ear and look at me with wonder.
I will try to ease your fear as the darkness pulls you under.
