Hello - I have been itching to buy a new MMO, and I think Vanguard may be the one!
I am a former EQ and EQ2 player - and I am looking for something very similar to the old EQ -
What servers are good for new players? What classes are useful and still good at solo?
I am a very experienced MMO'er - but have done pretty much zero research on this game, and want to be completely surprised by whatever I come across - however, I would like a few tips from other new players, or vets, on where to get started! Thanks for any info you guys can provide - I am excited to start playing this!

Seradon is one good server to start at. And warrior is very self-sufficent. Just go with that and have fun really
There are lots of players ingame that will answer questions you potentially will have later on. So i say, ignore any negative posts you get from people here and try it out yourself.
The speed of the mole and the power of steel is my weapon
warriors are fun classes but to solo good with them need good gear and play careful. i have a warrior i love him and pladin and dreadknight i only have tank classes. i mainly play great at tanks but all tanks are great just need to know what you doing you do fine no class is the best you start hearin this is the best thats the best it has nothing to do with that all depends on how you play with you class .

Thanks for the responses guys - I am having my video card and power supply upgraded today, can't wait to get home and see how this game looks / feels with the new hardware!
I had a chance to play for about 15 min last night, and started a Vulmane Shaman - pretty good stuff!
I started on Seredon(sp?) server - Any help from established players on here would be much appreciated! I am sure I will have 1000 questions once I really start playing...
One thing I was curious about, How are the dungeons in this game? I am hoping for something like EQ1 Old Sebelis, Guk, SolB etc... anything cool like that in this game? Underground tunnels with named mobs etc???
there are some great dungeons in VG. Large and with a bit more event like stuff then eq had. However eq dungeons i think are still best of any game....

VG dungeons are great vast places and a cut above your modern mmorpg. As the above post mentioned, you would do well to beat eq1 dungeon's .
VG has an abundance of dungeon, varies greatly in size and to me has a more natural feeling as compare to EQ ones. Not every dungeon is underground tunnels, some are aboveground, and some are even up in the air. And if you made to lvl 40+, be sure to try the underground Xennumet dungeon. Its really something different once you get your powersuit and start launching missiles and power jumps.
