Can any game even match....

Are there any MMO's out there right now that can rival WoW's raiding. I know FFXI has raiding but it isn't instanced and can be somewhat of a clust-f*ck depending on the time. I tried LOTRO, but got bored with the slow gameplay. I'd be willing to get back into it if there is some end-game raiding to look forward to, but I heard it isn't all that deep. I am looking for a game with some depth in its end-game raiding. Is there anything out there that can match that of WoW?

Thanks for the help and input.

What do you mean "depth to raiding"?

EQ2 has a vast array of end dungeons you can raid.

    It's a Jeep thing. . .

When it offers something more than just grinding/questing. Whats the point of being max level if your doing the same things you did while leveling.

Why don't you just play WoW then?

But for me, hell I wouldn't even want any MMORPG I play matches WoW's raiding, scheduled working hours every day in a never changing and zero interaction with the outdoor instance farming trash and old bosses every week, please, rather just kill me.

    MMO played (paid):
    AION
    DragonRaja
    Dungeons & Dragons Online
    Lineage
    Lineage 2
    Tibia
    Ultima Online
    Warhammer Online
    World of Warcraft

    MMO tried:
    Atlantica Online
    Darkfall
    Dead Frontier
    Dungeon Runners
    EverQuest
    Lord of the Rings Online
    Monster Hunter Frontier Online
    Ragnarok Online
    Requiem
    Runes of Magic
    Runescape
    The 4th Coming

and some other Chinese/Korean or beta MMOs

Isn't WoWs raiding just grinding ? It was to me when I did it. There was no depth to it at all. Just farm an instance of its loot for everyone so you can move on to the next instance to farm it and so on and so on. For me the fun in raiding was being on vent with good friends laughing and making fun of each other

I think it is time to summon the Lineage 2 card

I don't know who coppied what from whom but i know Lineage was there before WoW and it has a lot of features WoW has.

But as time passed WoW could afford to fix up their game and even add content to such a degree it surpassed Lineage 2.

So WoW started off by copying the same Korean MMO model, adapted to western markets and a flawless publishing company which is renouned for it's releases. The massive amounts of people flocking and squeezing in to WoW brought enuogh resources to allow the developers to quickly hire more personal to fix the bugs in a very short amount of time and add more content on a regular basis.

Now Lineage 2 one of the 1st MMO's which had the common Korean MMO system and which has been copied and pasted on every Asian release , is copying stuff from WoW because they are lacking ideas.

For instance the last Lineage 2 expansion, if you look at the Radar you won't tell a diffrence between WoW and L2, i currently don't play any of the 2 games but it just shows how far WoW went and how much it caught up with other MMO's since it's release.

First, WoW does not really have that deep of raid content.  It is not bad, don't get me wrong, but if you want real raiding then EQ1 & 2 have far better raid content.  FFX1 may not have been instanced, but the content as a whole was pretty damn good.

Honestly though, if you think WoW raiding was the best, then you really need to try some other games.  I think you would be surprised to see how well other games did not only PvE raids, but PvP raids too.

So by depth you mean the 1337 lootz and whining kids yelling,"you *%@! %*$# *%&#^ %$!#, stand over here!!! %$!#!" on vent? I tried it a couple times, but the "depth" was buried deep under all that grind(i guess that's why they call it depth).

I guess if I stuck with it a while longer I might have dug it out from the steaming pile of repetitive content, but no guild leaders wanted to pay my $30k a year salary to meet the weekly work raid schedule; seems these slavedrivers expect you to work for free.

Look, I'm not here asking for you to explain why you don't like raiding. Just because you had a bad experience with a crap guild doesn't mean its sucked for everyone. And for the record, everything MMO-related is repetative, so nt.

All I am saying is that I personally enjoyed the raiding that I did in WoW. I didn't take it that seriously, but when I was able to progress in TK and SSC with some of my friends, it was fun.

I am sick of WoW at the moment and all of my RL and in-game friends are taking breaks. So I was simply asking if anyone knew another game that offered something end-game that was worth taking part in.

Compapre FAQs.  Its all you need to know.  EQ1 raiding is like MC.  Compare that to the newest raids in TBC and its apples and oranges.  FFXI and EQ2 come close.

You pointed out for defence that everything MMO-related is repetative when defending WoW's raiding against accusation of being a grind yet earlier stated that it's not a grind? Is not repetative content by definition "the grind"?

Really, my post was completely in jest, but here's my point of view.  I really don't care about PvE.  IMHO PvE is just filler content for MMOs, not something that should be the focus of the end game content. There was some great quest lines in WoW early on like the deadmines and duskwood questlines and the missing diplomat(what they finished of it) that you could run through once and enjoy the storyline, but once you got to raids it became more focused on grinding up rep, getting keyed to instances, then grinding the raid bosses.  Maybe it's really great for people that played the warcraft games for the story rather than to kick ass at RTS or who read the books(I think they have books for the series, anyway), but the joy of killing some random god or demon or w/e every week just wasn't there for me.  I started playing WoW for the RvR aspect and Blizz completely dropped the ball with PvP.

If you'd ever tried EQ1's raid game you wouldn't be asking this question.

Pre Burnning Crusade I did every raid encounter save Naxx in WOW. Everything to that point was about Scars of Velious difficulty level in EQ1.
