Not a peep since May 9'th

A month has gone by since they publically stated the game is coming out this year. They also said they would hold some Q&A's with other news outlets and give a video in a few weeks..
There hasn't been a peep about any of this stuff yet..
Must be real hard to record video of a full featured MMORPG and give a few Q&A's out..
Good god.. It's like a person can't even talk about this game without flaming it because of the complete incompetence of it's devs....

Maybe they have so much work to do, they decided to give us quarterly updates. That way, they only have to give us two more updates before release. After all, they don't have any hiring going on and they are about to release a mmorpg.com in six. You don't need stuff like CSRs, GMs, CMs, Network guys, PR, a publisher, a distributor, server hosts, etc. Remember, they are a different company doing things their own way. Who said anything about videos. Tasos comment about a video this month was taken out of context. The video he was referring to was their self marketing video they getting ready to do for launch so expect it in December. Ya, that's it. /sigh

I don't see what the big deal is, they'll get to it when they get to it.
It's not like Aventurine has the greatest history of keeping dates, and didn't they already release their yearly video? That was earlier this year, judging by past years the only other video that wasn't released as the yearly video was a mount video that was like 10 seconds.

Well that is an update. It gives us solid information. So it does not matter if you care about it or not, it is still an update.

They're so busy that 15 minutes is far too long to spend away from the game giving you guys an update, this game is totally releasing this year!!!111!!!11!

Actually, I have to agree, it is an update, it explains why updates/info have been sparse lately, not sure what everyone expects, perhaps some WAR type podcasts? Doubt we'll ever see anything like that....

Personally, I'd really like to see Darkfall pull through.
I can forgive a company for having poor commercial and marketing strategy.
Since they have set up enough hype for a late 2008 release, I will judge them by this benchmark. If they haven't released something by their own time benchmark, then I will...sadly...become more skeptical....

Why do you even bother to post? They are a small team working on a project that has not been attempted before.
If they fail well we are all screwed, we will keep seeing the same WoW clone crap that we have seen for years.
If they are successful we might finally see some main stream sandbox games.
I dont care if it releases this year or next year as long as when it is released is has the full feature list in game at the time of release not like some games out now that still dont have features promised at release.

So do you think that post you linked to took him more than 15 minutes to type up? See they are obviously ABLE to do it but yet always seem to find an excuse like *we're too busy* when they have to provide an update with substance like a Video with core gameplay being shown which they have yet to do 6 months before a supposed commercial release.

If they fail I'll just play games like War , Mortal online , Starcraft 2 , GRID.. so no. We're not screwed. They're screwed if they fail.
If they are successful we might finally see some main stream sandbox games.
Try Asheron's Call - DarkTide server. It will give you 80% of what DF wants to be but yet no one plays it. Wonder why. :P

LOL, you amaze me. Word of advice, learn to read. Even Tasos knows it isn't an update. It starts out, "This is not an update", but then sit there and say it is. Tasos says it isn't, yet you sit there and swear it is. Good grief. I'll take Tasos word on this one. It ISN'T an update.

Maybe this game doesn't exist? Why would you expect anything from a developer that's been making a game for 8 years?

Yes, clearly Darkfall is a scam. No doubt! But wait... I'm a little bit confused here... If it's a scam then.... What are they scamming people of? Cookies and milk? Scam involves one party jacking another party's money. Did they take money from any of you? Did they set pre-orders or pre-subscription? Did they sell you Darkfall Underwear and never delievered it? What is it then?
What! Maybe Aventurine is scamming some investors? But.... Who? Isn't Aventurine a well established and respected Defense Contracting Company developing Simulator Systems for Governments and Military with a multimillion dollar budget at hand? It is! Oh geee.... Another bum in the Scam theory... I'm so damn dissappointed!

Oh and obviously we are dealing with inexperienced and out of garage developers! I mean, how much experience in programming can have people who develop War Simulating Systems, Command Control Systems and Geographic Information Systems for Militaries? Silly newb amateur programers!
Oh, and look at that. How would any professional banker would dare to provide funds to that silly group of amateurs we are speaking of. That damn Athens-based Proton Investment Bank SA of Greece provided Aventurine with a 20 million euro convertible bond. I mean, we are CLEARLY dealing with a Vaporware here, so why would anyone with a right mind, especially a world wide recognized and respected Investment Bank, do such a thing? That's just sooooo silly. Clearly those bankers there are up for a big disappointment. I guess they didn't care to professionally check and inspect the seriousness, or as WE of right mind would say lack of seriousness, of this project.
