Its better not to hype like Age of Conan did and then totally fail to deliver. Way better to put your time and effort in developing the game as good as you can and then hype it a bit before release, just as Aventurine is doing at the moment.

Most hype actually comes from the Fans, Aventurine has already said that the fans have made up somethings in the game that won't be in it. Aventurine also has said for over a year now the game is almost 100% complete so why not show some of it off? Truth of the matter is no one knows what Aventurine is doing right now (not me not you) Your just hoping they developing the game, could be they put it on the back burner for a few months to do the other work they do to pay the bills.
In any case they have 5 months to get the game live by their own admission and last i heard they still don't have a publisher. Guess we'll know more when the open beta starts

Tasos: Things are going well with the game testing and with the publishing activities. There are no serious problems to speak of, and we’re on schedule with our milestones.
We don't know if they will self publish or hire some one for it. But it going well at this point so I leave that concern behind.
