What's with the download speeds?

in Dungeons & Dragons Online

I am updating my DDO client after reinstalling it 15 minutes ago. It was downloading the launcher at speeds in the 200's kb/s, but is downloading the updates ranging from 17 kb/s to 40ish kb/s.

Is this a known problem?

MMORPG's w/ Max level characters: DAoC, SWG, & WoW

Currently Playing: WAR
Preferred Playstyle: Roleplay/adventurous, in a sandbox game.

    I don't know but I was stuck on examining files earlier before work, didn't really have time into checking it out much. Maybe something going on with their servers/IP again?

    No idea, but it finished downloading around 11pm last night. I was finally getting decent download speeds after a while, so who knows. I know one thing, I am happy to be playing again. Building characters are fun, as is playing with a group.

    Glad for you, I am still having my issue, wonder if it had to do with installing the trial for LOTRO, I hope not I won't be subscribing to LOTR not my style and really wanna get back into DDO (been a few days lol). Gonna hit up the forums tech support and see if anyone else has had this.

    Are you installing the game from disks or downloading it from the internet?

    I'm assuming you've already tried restarting the patcher, uninstalling and then reinstalling the game?

    I downloaded from disks, rather not uninstall and reinstall if I don;t have to but I may, just hoping for an easier less time-consuming fix.

    You first posted your problem a couple days ago. It takes around 30 minutes to install the game again. I could have reinstalled the game several times by the time you finally get some help. I don't know, if there is a chance that I just need to uninstall the corrupt files, I'd rather take that chance than wait several days.

    Up to you though. At least you have plenty of time to build a character in the meantime.
